I usually can't deal with protagonist under 14 unless it's a comedy. (Though Animal Land is an exception to that rule for me.)

When literally every side character has a more interesting personality and/or power-set then the protagonist, but the show is completely fixated on the shitty rivalry between the stock protagonist and his edgy rival. I've seen quite a bit of it in anime.
