Jonathan Hickman's Marvel Run Storytime
Storytiming Jonathan Hickman's runs on SHIELD, Secret Warriors, Fantastic Four, Ultimate Marvel, Avengers, and the entire Secret Wars event. One thread a day.
Anyone reading?
they still haven't released the last issues of this have they
fucking marvel
>>83505502
yup!
thank you!
some europeans might be eating lunch late though, and it's early for americans, so it's normal for the thread to be slow
anyhow
THANK YOU, ULTI-MATEI named you when you were storytiming USM. We got history kek
>>83505669
kek nope supposedly they're finished too. They might be waiting for Hickman's return
>>83505670
Gotcha!Thanks for naming me!
>>83505690
yeah it's been done since late 2014
>>83505738
jesus
>>83505754
don't really get why, they missed their window a long time ago and there won't be a good time to ever release it
they should just solicit a trade with everything
>>83505839
That's what I was thinking they would end up doing. Although, with Ultiamate Wolverine vs Hulk they re-released the first two issues on the same day as number three iirc.
>>83505375
What was the point of this series? Did it even ammount to anything besided retconning the ever-loving fuck out of the MU's history?
>>83505954
That's it basically.
>>83505375
You're doing gods work man. I'm stoked to finally plow through the Hickman chronology of Marvel.
>>83506025
Glad I could be of service. Should I do Ultimate before the issue of Avengers with The Maker or before Avengers entirely as to not disrupt the flow?
>>83506049
I would say do the Ultimates up through issue #12, considering that if you were to go to the combined Avengers run it would eventually introduce the maker assuming you already had his histroy. The order you listed originally I feel was perfect!
>>83506164
Yeah, that's what I was going to do. Thor, Hawkeye, the Fallout stuff, and Ultimates #1-12.
Someone explain how Hickman's Brotherhood of the Shield is tied to modern SHIELD and that is tied to Nick Fury being the Man on the Wall?
The fucking art in this.
>>83506289
>throw shit on the wall
>see what sticks
Marvel's "creative" summits
>>83505375
I remember reading the first issue, is there any more than the two here?
>>83506311
This, but I*'m sure the final issues will connect it.
>>83506318
There's SHIELD #1-6, Infinity, and SHIELD v2 #1-4. This thread will have everything except for SHIELD v2 #4 since it won't fit and I'm only doing one thread a day to encourage more readers.
>>83506355
Reminder that the last two issues are done but Marvel won't release them for who knows what reason. They've been totally 100% done since September.
>>83505375
I have the whole series in my shelf. I'm so mad at them not publishing the last issue.
I'm really beyond mad because in Weaver's blog it says it's finished.
>>83506517
Yeah, it's pretty bullshit. We will find out what the plan is when Hickman comes back I'm sure.
>>83506428
THIS
I love how steam punk this series is
have a bump
>>83507372
Thanks
even though it just recently ended. I kinda miss this architect era of marvel. for all the shitty books we got, we still got good books every now and then like hawkeye, journey into mystery, hickman's ff, etc.
>>83507403
the 2000s were great for comics. A near solid decade surrounded by two shitty decades,
>>83507497
every decade has had its fair share of great comics my dude
it's nice that this series went on for so long to see weaver's art improve so much
>>83507545
I agree, but 2000's had less crappy ones compared to the 1990's and 2010's
That's it for today, come back tomorrow for the final issue of SHIELD and the start of Secret Warriors.
>>83507593
My favorite era of DC has to be late 90's/early 00's. Not to knock the bronze or copper age, but it's what I grew up with and I think that it's true for a lot of people. Loving what you grew up with I mean
Conflicted about Hickman's run. I loved Secret Warriors and hearing that Agents of SHIELD was going to adapt it almost made me want to watch (but wisely decided not to). Didn't really like his Avengers run on the other hand.
>>83508638
avengers was meh
new avengers was good
my main gripe is it all built up to nothing
>>83506289
Michaelango was leader of the brotherhood of shield
He time trvaled to the future and found immortal isaac newton took over the brother hood
He then made the great wheel Zodiac to act as a new agency but they broke up after one mission
Modern Hydra, Shield, Leviathan and Zodiac are founded by ex Great Wheel agents.
>>83505375
>reading gay agenda anti-breeder propaganda
Absolutely approved.
>>83507403
Archirect era?
I have only seen that name used for dc
>>83508688
New avengers had like, one good arc
>>83508403
>final issue of SHIELD
If only. What the hell is going on with #5-6? Didn't they get finished like two years ago already?
>>83508812
marvel doesn't want to publish it
much like the last issue of hawkeye that was done long before it released
>>83508718
http://marvel.com/news/comics/14759/marvel_unveils_the_architects
>>83508696
Thanks. That makes sense. How does the Man on the Wall stuff fit in?
>>83508718
I'm pretty sure the DC Architect era is a retroactive naming based on the Marvel Architect era
>>83508851
But why? It's money
>>83511771
Maybe so they have leverage on Hickman or something? Like "we won't publish them until you come back to write more comics for us" or something? I don't know. The issues are 100% confirmed done and Hickman said they were supposed to come out in September.
>>83511995
but they were during the second of his avengers
>>83507461
that statue in the top left sorta has a Frank face.
Also, is the bottom right statue a reference to the eternals?
>no sexy stories
Shit storytime OPthanks
Bump for greatness...thanks, Mate.
>>83512255
Yeah. That's clearly Ikari.
>>83512037
The coloring wasn't finished until midway through secret Wars.
