God I love this episode so much. It's such a strong character episode. In it we see how Damaged Pearl is by the events of the war, how good Steven is at bringing out the best in people, how important to the team Rose was.

i've been crunching the numbers on the ending theme and it's pretty interesting. i realize it might be off because of the airing order being screwed up but not by too much

>all of season 1 was instrumental until jail break (51 episodes)
>had first two verses until cry for help (11 episodes)
>had echoing "love like you" part until nightmare hospital (5 episodes)
>had nothing like you until back to the barn (4 episodes)
>had barn credits until steven floats (12 episodes)
>now have "look at you go" verse
>still missing "something that does right by you" and "shaken by how long it took" verses

with 20 episodes left in the season, it seems likely that the finished song will sync up with the finale. SUGAR WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING

It's honestly grasping at straws right at this point. I could see Lapis tolerate Peridot more and Peridot, while still trying sometimes, also respecting Lapis' desire for some space. I really want to see Pearl and Lapis' interaction and relationship. Lapis being resentful and annoyed with Pearl due to her time in her gem, classism, and a resentment of the rebellion. And Pearl being super guilty for not realizing Lapis was trapped in the mirror so long. Eventually they'd learn to like each other due to their similar self sacrificing attitudes toward Steven.
