Well now, thanks to Rebirth, we know this Wally is actually Daniel's kid.

Let's see. Daniel was arrested when he was 18. Then 5 years later, he became the Reverse-Flash. So he would be 23 now. Wally is like 12, so Daniel knocked up some chick when he was 11 then.

Making him his "uncle" made no sense from the start; you could just tell somebody first came up with "kid of reverse flash" as the main character point, which makes an interesting dynamic. Then I'd assume somebody above him went "guys, we wanna make Wally different, but not TOO different. Making him black got people up in arms enough already." So that essentially means that there was no way to make Wally a distinct person, Wally getting mad about his Dad getting sent to prison is a way more clear-cut and understandable motivation for Wally to be bitchy at the start than his uncle.

I don't even hate nuWally alot, I just wish that they actually went whole hog and made him a totally different guy, now Rebirth means that he is, I'm interested in how they fix him.
