I don't know how human souls work in this universe obviously, but Garnet seemed to believe Steven's powers would work on objects.

Fusion question. I know Garnet's fusion was controversial back on homeworld, but how would same-gem fusions be viewed? Like if two rubies liked each other and wanted to stay fused, would that be ok since they're the same gem? What about gem romances where they opt to remain separate and not fuse together?

Is there anymore good fanart of the new Rubies? I kind of liked them better than our Ruby desu.

Easiest gems to hit are Peridot, Pearl, Amy, and Jasper.
If Lapis is always facing you then good luck sneaking up behind her.
Garnet's gems are on her hands and since her weapons also surround them it's quite literally gonna be impossible to hit.

My working theory on fusions is the components think independently and depending on degree of instability work independently but depending on various factors sooner or later they begin adopting the persona of the fusion culminating in the fusion itself getting a sense of self. Now the components thoughts still remain separate which is how we get situations like Keystone Motel, but the fusion itself treats all of them as her own thoughts even if she could make an educated guess as to which component mind is producing them.

Actually, Lapis would be fairly easy: her gem is center of mass: where you are supposed to aim.
If she was facing you directly, the bullet targeted to center of mass would pop her holographic projection, and continue through to shatter the gem.

If anything, attempting to kill gems in this manner is like fighting the enemies of "Killer 7", an old gamecube game where the shadowy enemies have very specific weak spots on very specific parts of their bodies.

The example of this you missed was Ruby and Sapphire, while the exact amount of time between the Return and Jailbreak is unclear it appears to be a few hours, and they had both managed to reform in that time

Amethyst can reform in a matter of seconds, she missed it up once during Reformed but the other times she was able to reform within seconds without any mistakes, she was just screwing around a bit, she takes a few hours at the end of that episode, likely because she is really taking her time to think about what she actually wants to look like after Garnet yelled at her for it earlier.

Peridot managed to reform instantly when she was unbubbled but that was a few hours later, there is a similar example in Centipeedle where she form instantly after being unbubbled which leads me to believe that gems can prep themselves to reform while still in a bubble

The final example is Pearl who took over 2 weeks to reform herself.

Personally I take 3 conclusions from this information, 1 it takes the average gem a couple of hours to reform, the exact amount is unclear, but it appears to be less than a day. Amethyst is ridiculous at this, she can effectively reform in seconds, something extremely useful if she ever gets into a fight since poofing her isn't enough to actually stop her, you need to poof her and then bubble her within about 5 seconds or she will reform. 3 Pearl is bad at this sort of thing, you would think after traumatically dying in front of Steven she would have attempted to rush back, but it still took her weeks to reform

It seems likely to me that shapeshifting and reforming are the same or very similar powers, hence why Amethyst is so good at reforming and Pearl is bad, a gem we literally never see use her shapeshift powers, likely because she is bad at them

Peridot, Ruby and Sapphire each didn't take long to regenerate because they feel like they know who they are. Peridot especially.

Both Amethyst and Pearl are riddled with self-doubt and self-loathing, so they just need a longer time to gather themselves and figure out what they want to be.

Maybe gems themselves are incredibly resistant to blunt damage, but weak to more precision damage? Kind of like how it's nearly impossible to punch through a car window, but a pointed tool can shatter one.

Lapis being cracked from being stepped on could thus be explained by pointed shoes, and Amethyst from hitting a pointed rock.
