I know comics aren't ONLY for children and all, but the idea of Batman and Catwoman having Red Shoe Diaries level sex on panel in a mainline book just makes me uncomfortable.

Which is odd, because I loved those unused pages where Selina realizes Batman is Bruce and strips naked on his front lawn. But this page always weirded me the fuck out.

It's from the first Justice League storyline in the New 52. Hal and Bruce had been bagging on each other the entire time, and Bruce finally revealed his identity as a way to show that he and Hal were more alike than he thought and needed to stick together.

Only Hal wasn't keeping up on current events so he legitimately had no idea who Bruce Wayne was. There's another page later where Clark points out Bruce is a billionaire and Hal is even more confused.

Remember that defunct planned crossover they were building up to with the Daemonites and Helspont. Shit like Stormwatch (but also Demon Knights and Voodoo and Grift) were part of the plan until it all went bust (who'd have thought letting Liefeld write would be a good idea).

I suspect it correlates largely with Harras/Lee losing control pre-Trinity of Sin and Pandora being the actual Pandora.

I feel like early on they were trying really hard to flesh out some of the lesser known characters to give the universe some depth, but then no one bought any of those books so they said fuck it and started going back to the trinity. Its a damn shame.

The tone whipped from DnD to Game of Thrones on a fucking dime and I couldn't enjoy it. When they put the head of the little girl they had befriend the Knights all issue on a pike, I checked out completely.

Underrated. The writing's okay, but the art is god-tier and they don't just make him Dr. Manhattan like everyone assumes.

Yeah Cap's power level gets REALLY elevated, but Nate is still a soldier and comes at the powers from an everyman angle, whereas Manhattan was a scientist and deals with his powers and relates to people with them as a scientist.

Has anything been mentioned about Rebirth JLA yet? I want to believe it'll be a dumping ground for the characters I loved but can't sustain an ongoing.

And the whole thing with Catwoman is that she is seductive and a tease, and having them have sex right of the bat does away with that. Let unresolved sexual tension be unresolved for at least enough time for the new readers to actually want to see them bone.

Almost all the new Batman comics had pointless and unnecessary sex scenes. Nightwing hooking up with the "totally not a villain" girl on a plane, Red Hood and Roy banging Starfire, Bruce dating the daughter of an old friend, the playboy bunny villain. And they were all number 1 issues to introduce new readers. I'm all for sex scenes but all of these were pretty tasteless

Rayner and the new guardians. Started slow but got good when he finally went white. He seems to have been given the wally west treatment. Just poof gone.

Burnt out by DC. Forced to write Firestorm and Batgirl two books which she had very little creative freedom (compared to post-crisis secret 6) since one she had a co-writer and the other she was forced to write by Bateditorial's shitty House style imitating Snyder and doing his crossovers.

Jesus, in hindsight, barring a few exceptions, the New 52 was a disaster.
