Ok you bunch of mysognists. What are some good comics with WOMEN as main characters?
>>83054821
Dan Slott's entire run of She-Hulk. Which is funny to say given how atrocious his Spider-Man is, but I guess even a shit writer can have ONE good comic book under his belt.
John Byrne's She-Hulk is pretty funny too actually.
The Amazing Spider-Girl is one of the most highly acclaimed books Marvel ever did and the seed for the entire MCU setting.
Amathyst: Princess of Gemworld is surprisingly good considering it's basically American Sailor Moon at first.
Manhunter with Kate Spencer as the star is really awesome too.
Batwoman too, though some might find it's art style a little strange at first.
>tfw you wanna talk about comics but you also don't wanna feed a troll
Love and Rockets
Current Ms Marvel
90% of Greg Rucka's work
Claremont's X-Men

Oh!
I forgot that Claremont's run of X-Men features Storm as basically the main character for years more or less and most of the major plot points revolve around female characters.
Excalibur is similar, but with Kitty Pryde and Rachel Summers instead.
All three volumes.
>>83055159
Forgot about them.

I liked it but it wasn't that good either. Certainly worth a read and has a lot of potential. It's a fun read, sure though.
>>83054821
>>83055415
Eh.
Silver Age Supergirl is Silver Age Usual DC; good if you're into it but it's kinda formulaic. During the Silver Age DC was pretty conservative with their characters and storylines and stuck to "what already worked" a lot, though by the Bronze Age and 80's they got way better, equally or exceeding Marvel.
Her modern stories are sometimes okay, some times good, sometimes bad, basically very average at best.
Not the worst comic's ever written but not particularly notable either, sometimes struggling with trying to find a writer who can write her and giving her an extended cast that actually clicks.

That second half got dark as fuck.

I was really looking forward to reading it, so I was expecting more out of it. The writing style fell a little flat for me, though it's kind of a fun read as a sort of an 80's Saturday morning cartoon in comic book form.
I thought it had lots of great, cool concepts, like the Emissaries of Varn, Carnelian using guns, the origin of Gemworld, Gemworld itself, etc.
SORELY needs to be updated into the modern era, but nothing like what I've heard the nu52 version was.
It's too bad that the DC Nation shorts will never be given a full cartoon.

I like Ivy so i'll give it a chance. Got anything for Killer Frost?

>plural
I'd say Wake (Sillage), but it only has one girl has a main character. Acting as a special agent for a space empire.
On the other hand, it doesn't have any men, since the rest of the cast is composed only of aliens.
Same for Druuna (post-apoc road trip), one woman and the rest is mutants or robots.
Freak's Squeele (high school urban fantasy) has two women as the protagonists. So do Marlysa (med-fan) and Yoko Tsuno (x-files/sci-fi/adventures/err...).
Pic or any book by Kerascoet, really.Dear diary, today was a good day. I got a couple anons to read Beautiful Darkness, and then they cried themselves to sleep.

Wonder Woman (Azzarello's run, ended)
Alias (ended)

two out of the three they posted are pretty good. Alias is actually really good and one of the few times where the bendis-isms actually worked and pulse is a less good sequel.

>The Amazing Spider-Girl is one of the most highly acclaimed books Marvel ever did and the seed for the entire MCU setting.
This sounds interesting, mind going into more detail for someone who never read Spider-Girl? I thought the genesis of the MCU was Ultimates which showed a lot more 'grounded/realisitc' (and thus filmable) version of Marvel capes?
this, of course
>>83082573
it was posted while i was looking for a pic of them :-/
So here's a trio of females...
>>83082626
Spider-Girl is the MC2 universe. An earlier spin-off universe where we see roughly 30 years into the future of the '90s Marvel Comics timeline. Current heroes all settled down and had kids. Some are still fighting villains, some have retired for good. May Day Parker is Spidey/Mary Jane's daughter who just discovered her spider abilities have activated. She balances school, crime fighting, and doting parents. It's one of the better MC2 series besides Avengers called A-Next.

It's pretty inexpensive, too. The Showcase volume had a lot of material, if you don't mind it being in B&W.
>>83079435
I'm a fan. Victorian steampunk detective. (Goes globe-trotting adventure in volume 2)
They've been putting out material with consistency now. Man that years long wait between issues was a killer.
