It is really sad to watch people grow old and lose the ability to do the things that give them joy. He has pretty good health still though (even though he's slowing down), and his brain still seems fine. Lee is known to just slap his name on anything and everything at Marvel. He might write a line or two and then clam he's a co-creator. Nearly every hero from the 60's were a product of the artists alone. That being said Lee did have a weird way with words. Silver Age Marvel loved overuse in captions and dialogs but I honestly really enjoy it in a weird way.

Not his fault he is more charismatic and able to sell the idea of silly superheroes to the masses. Oh, wait, he was a major leader in that too.

He gets more credit than he's due from normies, but from comic fans he gets less than he's due. Most interviews he does now he's praising some new writer or artist, or old ones for that matter. He kinda shrugs off the creation aspect that he seemed to be a bit lordy over 20 years ago.

They took like an hour to read because of how dense each issue was, making the action have little weight, and making me basically skip the visuals and read the text mostly like a book, and then get much better paced around 66 imo. It's weird.

It was a weird time in Marvel comics (DC too but Lee loved overuse of text more than anyone else). But I do miss it. Yeah it's great having the art show off the action and emotion but its kind of fun reading all that stuff. Lee had a weird way with words that made every issue a joy to read even if he really seem to have no idea how to write women.
