With the Cluster and Malachite out of the way, it seems that Sugar is clearing the stage for something.

I know we have baseball coming up, and I think this is important. It shows that YD is seriously going to do something drastic.

I'm thinking that she'll actually show up during the Town bomb, probably with an entourage or some kind of fleet. It could just a 'localized' invasion, where she sets down a few squads of Homeworld gems to secure the town then just lands and fucks up the Crystal Gems day.

Pretty sure things were different with Gems pre-war.
Outside the Diamonds, they didn't seem to even understand that different Gem fusion was a thing.
And if you watch the flashback, there's no weapons used besides Pearl's swords.
Even the mega Ruby, which should have a big ass gauntlet, went punching Rose bare fisted.
So it seems likely that Gems just didn't use weapons in the past even.
As to why Blue just crabbed away like a bitch though is suspect.
