It isn't, and even if you think it is it's still light years ahead of Western animation.

Assuming this isn't bait (who knows), you have probably been listening to too much Internet hearsay about anime. Most people watch very little anime and don't even know what a season chart is. They have no idea what's on the air. They watch a handful of shows a year that get particularly popular, and then just assume things about the rest. You couldn't find a more perfect echo chamber of misinformation than the Western anime community.

Tron Uprising, Motorcity, and Sym-Bionic Titan are the trifecta of amazing action cartoons killed before their time

OP, personally, based on what you've said your tastes are, I would probably recommend Sym-Bionic Titan the most. It would make a good introduction.

A mecha anime meets john hughes movie, about two alien refugees and an experimental robot hiding out on earth, posing as high schoolers, while war beasts are sent from their home planet to kill them, which they fight by forming the giant mecha Sym-Bionic Titan.
