Watch out for that vicious bounty hunter Boba Fett, Luke! Did I ever tell you I fought his dad? He was hired to assassinate a senator me and your father were guarding. We kept bringing her around open windows and public areas in order to draw the would-be assassin out but his cunning surprised even us! He used his payment to hire another bounty hunter to kill the senator for him while he sent us on a wild bantha chase. Then the 2nd assassin used her payment to buy a robot to assassinate the senator for her. Did I mention the 2nd assassin was a shapeshifter? She could have been a good friend in disguise and just shot the senator for all we knew! Wait, where was I? Oh yes, then the robot used its payment to buy poisonous bugs to release into the senator's room while she slept after lasering a hole through the window. It could have just lasered her too after that because we we weren't watching her at all. So we sense the hostile life forms, not the robot, in the room and rush in and save the senator in the nick of time! And I jumped out the window to chase the robot back to its owner! Good thing it didn't have a self-destruct function. Then we found the 2nd assassin and chased her across the planet, and caught her when she tried to kill us instead of shapeshifting and escaping. But to our surprise, Jango Fett was watching the whole thing instead of going to kill the senator while we were away chasing the bugs chasing the robot chasing the shapeshifter. He shot her with a poisonous dart instead of sniper blaster, and only her instead of shooting all of us or blowing all of us with a rocket or something, then he escaped with his tiny jetpack. Luckily for the senator, my good friend Dexterr Jettster owned a 50s dinner on Courscant that had Republic secrets on the menu along with cheeseburgers and malt shakes. We found the assassin thanks to his dart and Mace Window killed him later, right in front of Boba. Mace was a good friend.

Would anyone else not mind if they remade Yoda in the OT as cgi? I think it would help the movies fit together a little better. Another change I wouldn't mind that would probably be considered blasphemy by most people is adding in some new scenes with Mas Amedda and the moffs discussing the Rebellion on Coruscant maybe in Sheev's old office or something. I know most people would hate it but I actually kind of like the politics of Star Wars on a galactic level (Episode 1 was kind of boring though since it was mostly just Naboo politics).

Honestly I wouldn't mind changes to the OT, I love the originals, I do, but some things do need to be changed to fit better, not everything such as Obi's krayt dragon call for instance.

If they do make changes such as Puppet/CGI Yoda they should have it as two separate discs just to appease both sides, since Puppet Yoda is pretty comical.

One thing that does need to be changed is Obi-Wan's death, his whole poofing into nothing hasn't made sense since RotJ where Yoda doesn't poof into nothing if I recall.

I don't believe Shatterpoints is, there might be something highly similar to it, but a lot less pronounced.

Form III/Soresu is actually mostly meant to be used defensively in close-quarters combat, a way to tire out the opponent, mostly used for survival and defense than all out victory/offense. But yes it's one of the Forms used for deflecting blaster bolts too.

It's one of Obi-Wan's primary forms, very meticulous, just about wearing the opponent down and using opportune strikes when needed. Focuses a lot of subtle movements, dodges, and reflexes, a lot of finesse if you will.

There is a lot more to Anakin's downfall than just that. The movie just sort of glosses over it very briefly in compared to everything else we know and seen, even then there are subtle hints in RotS too.

Besides the Dark Side clouds your judgment, to Anakin, he'd have killed the entire universe if it meant saving Padme or his mother. The difference with his mother is that he assumed she was still fine in the care of Watto, since she was fine prior to that and they had lived relatively normal lives despite being slaves up to that point. The vision with Padme was just the straw that broke the camel's back for him.

At that point Anakin ceased to be, consumed by Vader and all he knew was that the Jedi held him back knowing that amount of power he was gaining through the dark side, Palpatine was his friend, the Jedi had already fucked over Ahsoka, and then you have the entire stuff with his assumptions on Obi-Wan and Padme. In terms of negative emotions for the Jedi, anger is one of them, as well as fear.

Obi-Wan gets angry after Qui-Gon dies. Obi-Wan gets angry when Maul mentions Qui-Gon. Qui-Gon was constantly causing problems and defying Jedi Code. Yoda straight up fears the Force Priestesses and their visions in TCW.

All of those are the path to the dark side. Luke never once uses the dark side beyond his anger in RotJ, we know nothing about his Jedi Academy and exactly how it works, we know nothing about his teachings, etc. For all we know he could be focusing on the Jedi Code of old.

The difference between the Dark Jedi and Sith is that the Sith corrupt the Force, ruining the balance of Light and Dark, tipping the scale, which Anakin corrected by killing Palpatine and by extension Vader, the last Sith.

It's been explicitly stated that Kylo Ren (note not Darth Kylo Ren), Snoke, and the Knights of Ren are not Sith, just the same as Asajj Ventress is not a Sith just because she has a red lightsaber as Dooku stated.

The Force is already in Balance without the Sith, everyone has the Force in them and the collective Galaxy/Universe is already in balance between all of those people and what is in side of them, this includes Jedi who uphold the balance, and Dark Jedi who fall to the Dark Side. The Sith however completely corrupt the Force and fuck this balance up.

It's a Chinese Scale type Balance, not that everyone needs to have a perfect a balance of Light/Dark in them, as the Force incorporates the entirety of everything as far as that is concerned.

Luke doesn't have to do anything, Anakin balanced the Force, it's that simple. There are no more Sith to corrupt things, and the Dark Jedi despite Sith Teachings, can't corrupt it.

Vader being the exception due to his role as the Chosen One.

Exactly, a BALANCE OF LIGHT AND DARK, that exists within everybody as the Force exists within everybody. There is a difference between using the dark side and negative emotions and using it to corrupt the Force as Sith do.

And he makes a point time and time again that Jedi use negative emotions that have a chance to lead to the dark side, but they aren't weak enough to fall to it, meaning they have that inherent ability within them.

It's a scale, a Jedi may be 99/1 as far as the Light/Dark goes, but they will never be 100/0 like the Sith are with Dark/Light. No Jedi has shown that ability, not even Yoda.

The balance of the Force isn't a balance between the Light Side and Dark Side, it's the eradication of the Dark Side, that corrupts and destroys the Force.

Which is what TFA gets completely wrong. They completely ignore the Chosen One prophecy, which Anakin fulfilled at the end of RotJ. That makes the entire prophecy a sham as the Force just slept for a time and here we go with the Dark Side again corrupting things.

Balance=/=Light and Dark
Balance=Light/Harmony in the Force

That's like saying anyone who uses the Force for good is a Jedi. They're both specific orders with specific teachings and philosophies.

Though you probably eventually do reach a point where there's little difference. Take Snoke and Kylo, both seem very Sith-like but aren't Sith. We don't even know enough about them to understand what distinguishes the Knights of Ren and whatever Snoke is from the Sith, so even if they're not Sith and will never be Sith, if they behave exactly the same way as the Sith there isn't much of a real difference.

So I made something for you, /swco/.

Allow me to explain my autism;

In Battlefront, they've had updates where maps will start to appear in various different Game Modes, and they get tweaked layouts. Now most of these are pretty inconsequential. Sides may be flipped, or random Shuttles may be in places they weren't before. Until recently, the most interesting one was probably the Turning Point variant on Endor, where the Imperial Base now has a function-less AT-AT on guard. Just cosmetic, really.

But I digress, let me get back to the point of this. I was playing Walker Assault on Jakku after the latest patch, and I noticed that they had changed the map. You now fight diagonally through the map, the skybox was more orange, and the wreckage was slightly different. Then I noticed, in the sky, a Super Star Destroyer.

My inner autis-, I mean, nerd, went crazy because I realized that the map was supposed to be a prelude to the Turning Point variant, in which it's daytime, and the SSD is destroyed.

So I decided to record footage myself, and slap this WebM together for anybody else who is interested to see. I apologize for the quality of the WebM. I wish I could have made it higher quality, but 4chan refuses to let me upload anything more than 4MB.

So yeah, there you have it, the rise and fall of the SSD Ravager, now with the new sunrise footage of the Battle of Jakku. Kinda' sad that the most interesting thing about Battlefront is the skyboxes, though... Looking forward to an actual Star Wars single player game.

Also I don't know a single person that hates Delta Squad honestly, I really hope they show up in Rebels as an old Elite Squad under Vader to hunt down Ghost Crew and have interactions with Rex and crew and Sabine/Mandos. It'd be really nice I think, but wishful thinking.

I imagine Vader's mechanical arm clamped down on him hard, I mean he does have the strength to pick his ass up with only one hand and a the bits of another arm. I imagine he's also too old to be spinning and flipping around out of his grip at that point, he is 88, granted Dooku was 83 when he died, but Palpatine seems a lot more haggard than Dooku did by far.

You can take a guess that he was redirecting the Force Lightning back at Vader too trying to get him to let go. In all the years leading up to that point after RotS, nobody was truly around to question him outside of Vader and he believed Vader didn't exactly have the balls or power yet to openly attack him. He became complacent and because of that weak, losing some of his cunning in those years.

Assuming he was trying to redirect the Lightning back at Anakin, think what was going through his mind. This kid Luke was lying on the ground in agony, dying, and a mechanical 'monster' just picks him up and takes it like a damn champ. He was probably confused as hell too by that point how Vader was even powering through it, and it was the one thing Palpatine never understood, love. Not the dark side or anything like that, but love.

Yeah, this was something that really threw him for a loop. For his own Sith apprentice, who like him is supposed to be inclined towards maintaining his power and doing absolutely nothing unless it benefits him (even serving his master is out of greed for his power), to suddenly put himself in a position where he is pretty much guaranteed to die- all for the sake of saving someone else- is absolutely incomprehensible. This was probably his thought process:

Well Fort Anaxes survived the destruction of the planet Anaxes, still had the base intact (relatively), still had atmosphere, normal gravity, and even life (albeit murder aliens).

So sure Sheev was actually blown clear from the Death Star II clinging to a bulkhead. He crash lands on a desert planet only to discover crashed ruins of the Death Star I that had blown clear of the explosion. Tarkin and Motti pop out and wave him over. As the heartfelt reunion continues with promise of destruction of the Rebellion and then suddenly a chunk of Alderaan with Bail clinging to it crushes them.

I still win in this scenario from my point of view. I'm not leaving my mom, but I also retain the knowledge that I can use the force. I obviously wouldn't be a very powerful person by any means, but whatever self training I can do could possibly get me some competency in using the Force. Small scale telekinesis and mind tricks on the weak-minded by the time I'm 30 is the best case scenario.

That's something I always had trouble with in the OT. The scale of huge things, like, well, the SSD in RotJ. The fact that the SSD falls so slowly in Battlefront indicates how far away it must be, which helps me comprehend its size. But yeah, it's huge, literally a floating city.
