Movie two: they fight brotherhood of evil (beast boy joins). They are all killed at the end

Animated Blacksad, especially after Zootopia since...it really is basically a (much much more)gritty Zootopia.

Although I'm not sure I'd even want Hollywood to touch it at all, but the topic's asking for things whose potential will "never be recognized".
