In Civil War why was there no scene of Michael Douglas slapping the shit out of Iron Man going "ANTS. ANTS. ANTS. ANTS. YOUR DADDY'S A BITCH. ANTS."
>>
Because Falcon doesn't know him.
>>
>"Old man Pym said never trust a Stark!"
>"Who are you?"

ANTS
>>
Only thing I would have accepted would be Tony going to Hank's house to ask why the fuck the Ant-Man suit was being used by Scott Lang, only for Hank to deck him before he even opens his mouth.
>>
I really want a scene where Tony pulls out his wallet, and Hanks full sized fist shoots out and punches Tony right in the jaw when he opens it while screaming "Ants!"
>>
>No scene of Michael Douglas tracking down Tony on the Raft, digging his fingernails in under Iron Fascist's chin and literally ripping off Tony's face then going look, look at the true face of this liar
Yeah it felt very moderated I agree.

Ant-Man's popular now, don't you know

The collective WHOOAAAAA when Giant-Man happened was funny in my theater

Scott is a everyman.

Pretty much a unknown factor, doesn't know much, what he does is from his new mentor and the media (a old coot who has a huge grudge), is gonna tard his way into so serious battles and Pym's daughter, and if he dies in place of Goliath a fuck-ton of people will get the worst hate boners.
>>
>>82547506
i didn't know that many people even watched ant-man

>>
>>82547506
Ant Man was pretty well received but here he's the comedic foil and just awestruck by all the avengers and stuff.
>>
>>82547460
>"Sorry, its a reflex, I promised I would deck your father next time I saw him."
>>
Just watched Ant-Man because of the Paul Rudd in Civil War and turns its completely on par with the first Iron Man and the only marvel movie its possible to enjoy at this point? Even despite second half of it feeling like its been put on fast-forward and missing scenes.
>>
>>82547506
Probably because it was the only cool superpower in the entire fight.
>>
>>82549102
Pym does the same thing when Reed Richards shows up.

Just socks him one flipping his jaw around.

I'm still waiting for the news that Snyder shoots himself

>>82549511
Snyder is a fucking twat, he literatlly had a quote where he said if people aren't fucking or dying he can't enjoy something and that characters talking to each other while in costume is impossibly goofy. He's literally a teenager in his mindset
>>
>>82549568
It's really surprising that /tv/ has better taste than Snyder
>>
Will MCU Pym redeem him in the eyes of the general public with only a casual knowledge of Marvel?

Now instead of being
>HURR WIFEBEATER (even though he only hit his wife one time ever during a psychotic episode)
he'll instead be the awesome crotchety old science guy? Keep tanks on his keychain? Will slap YOUR shit if you talk shit about his missing wife?
>>

The general public doesn't even know about the whole wifebeater stuff.
>>
>>82549800
only faggots care about Pym hitting his wife who is also a damn super hero.

That's not all consider that they where actually pulling their punches, Team Cap doesn't want to kill Team Tony because their main objective was to stop Zemo and his presumed plan to unleash the Soviet Sentai.

Team Iron doesn't believe them, but also would rather try to capture them alive instead of letting lethal force being used against Cap and force his team to fight back creating an even bigger international scandal.

There was only really one scene which got more of a reaction than anything to do with Scott or Peter when I went to see it.

When War Machine hit the ground, there was a very audible gasp of concern and a couple of "Oh No..."s, probably because everybody expected Falcon to catch him despite the trailer hinting it wasn't going to end well.

>>
>>82551508

I can't express how hard I lost my shit during the Giant-Man part. I don't think I've ever geeked out so hard during a cape film.

The only thing I didn't care for was him moving super slow. Being enormous wouldn't make you move in extreme slow motion. Maybe they did that because otherwise he would have totally wrecked everyone's shit.
>>
>>82554602
>Being enormous wouldn't make you move in extreme slow motion.

I mean,it does take exponentially more force to move a larger object compared to a smaller one.
>>
>>82554633

It's not like his musculature didn't grow proportionally to the rest of him. It shouldn't make any difference.
>>
>>82554703

That ain't how it works lad. There's a reason all the most proportionally strong animals in the world are tiny.
>>
>>82554703

The square-cube law and the nature of how muscles work disagrees anon.
>>
>>82554602
>The only thing I didn't care for was him moving super slow. Being enormous wouldn't make you move in extreme slow motion. Maybe they did that because otherwise he would have totally wrecked everyone's shit.
Yeah, I got the impression he was just trying to be REALLY careful.
>>
>>82551174
Gunn also invited DnA over during pre-production. Bendis didn't get that treatment.
>>
>>82554759

I'm not talking about strength, I'm talking about how fast he moves. There's no reason for huge Scott to move in slow motion like he did in the film. My best guess as to why they did that is either audience expectation for how giant people move or to gimp Scott so he doesn't just immediately KO everyone with a boot or a punch into the tarmack.
>>
>>82554955

Maybe. But it looked like he was having trouble grabbing at the other heroes because he was moving soooooooo sloooooow, which didn't make any sense.

shit pisses me off why would you clap people probably clapped about 8 times in the movie at shit scenes WHY.jpg
>>
>>82551167
This is why you don't go to a midnight release. I go to the movies fairly regularly, and I always try to see a film at least a few days to a week after it comes out, even if it's something I'm quite looking forward to. Otherwise it's usually too crowded and annoying. Then it'll usually still be pretty busy, but not totally full, the sweet spot.
>>
I loved when Scott, in full-blown Cap fanboy mode, still took the time to turn around and tell Wanda he thought she was cool too.
>>
>>82555301

this is what I'm trying to do with Civil War but everyone on /co/ keeps talking about it and I know when I go back to work most of my coworkers will have seen it so I might just break down and see it tomorrow

>>82555301
>>82555408
Try going on mondays, tuesdays and thursdays, early morning shows. Theaters are practically empty, every time.
>>
>>82551144
The first time I've ever heard somebody clap for a movie was the title sequence at the end of Civil War
>>
>>82555408
Leave /co/ for a few days, that's what I do. Nothing can be done about coworkers though unfortunately.

(I'm from the UK, so I saw it on Monday.)
(remember to stay for both the mid credits and post credits scene by the way)

>>82555531
Yeah, I love just going to see a film on a weekday afternoon when I've got a few hours to spare. There's always just a few groups of old ladies and some people like me just there on their own, it's super comfy.
>>
>>82555098

Right but he showed no signs of being physically strained when trying to turn or reach out, for example. He was moving slowly just because. There are a couple moments when he moves normally for a second, so it really seems like it was just an aesthetic choice.

The reason I care is because I want to see more Giant Man in the future and if his range of movement is so severely limited when doing so that is unlikely.
>>
>>82554835

If you're applying the square-cube law he would just be dead the second he grew that large, so we can assume that isn't a factor in this universe.
>>
no spoilers pls but how was giant man?
>>
>>82555975
One of the best parts of the film if not the best
>>
>>82555975
It was only for a few minutes but everything, from the build-up to it through to the end is just great. But maybe part of my joy was pleasant surprise because I forgot it was happening until I saw it.
>>
>>82554602
He's not moving "super slow" he just has to cover much larger distances whenever he moves because he is so big. Even if he moved more quickly that he normally would at his regular size he'd still appear to be moving more slowly from a distance but up close you'd know his arms and legs were zooming around at high speed. Just think how long it takes for Spider-Man to complete a web swing, which can sometimes be the equivalent to a swing of Giant Mans arm and you'll get what I mean. Spider-Man certainly isn't moving slowly when he swings around but it still takes him a few seconds to do it because of how far he has to move

Even if he was actively moving faster to compensate you'd still have things like his footfalls which would appear to be moving much more slowly due to being governed by gravity instead of the movement of his muscles.
>>
>>82555984
>>82556093

Makes me happy for Antman and Tayne. Picking him to play Scott was fucking perfect.
>>
>>82552436
>despite the trailer hinting it wasn't going to end well
They outright showed him being shot, crashing, and lying unconscious and bleeding on the ground in a crater shaped around his own body.
I was furious when I first saw it. I was watching BvS at the cinema and they showed that trailer in the theatre even though I had done my best to avoid it. But at that moment I figured that I was in the theatre anyway and how bad could it be to watch just one trailer of it?

Why the fuck do they show so damn much in all the trailers? I hate it.
As soon as they all left flying I realized that War Machine would fall, crash, and burn. Because I had already seen it in the trailer.
They do this whole "But will they catch him??" out of the scene, but it's pointless because they already spoiled it in the trailer. Why? I hate that they keep doing this pointless shit.
