Terezi wasn't really ruined though. In the end, she literally managed to get ahold of herself. The only bad part is that we only see the end result of her merging all of her memories, but we never really see how she experienced the end result and what is her experience of it during the process.

Karkat, on the other hand, got a good chunk of development sacrifed.

The thing is, with the last Jade log, I was actually hoping it was all for something, that there would be an actual lead up for the concept got only hinted at to never be actually used.

I'd like the epilogue to be a meenahquest-style walkaround in the new universe where you hear about the final battle with LE from everyone as well as what they are up to. You start out as John, but can switch characters leading to added dialogue between everyone. There will still be loot chests and secrets as well, referencing some lesser plot points as well as some of the best moments in the comic. There won't be a shitty tumblr-styled HUD/dialogue box with hashtags, just a simple textbox and a talksprite.

In order to actually end the walkaround you have to switch to the Mayor and cut the ribbon to Can Town, which also will serve as the credits roll with the carapace people having a cute parade.

I was pretty sure that Act 7 was going to be made up of a flash and a massive walkaround like the one you described. It was the only way I could fathom the story ending with serious closure for the whole cast. I can't imagine we'll get something like that for the epilogue, given how extensive it must be to make in its entirety. Fuck I don't even know what to look forward to at this point, I don't want to experience that same moment of despair in the threads when the epilogue updates hit.
