Honestly, I loved every minute of Act 7. Its a mixture of god fuck this cant be happening and kek what a pretentious asshole.

I understand why it was badly received. The ending is literally anti fun. If you were pretending to have fun with the comic no wonder you will be disappointed. From the direction, to the music, to how everyone unfairly shits on Karkat (even his friends like Kanaya), to the nihilistic nature of the plot, to Vrsika going full hero. Everything perfectly designed for you not to have fun.

I understand and appreciate the design behind the anti fun. Hussie managed to do it perfectly. He set to do something and they accomplished it. Now I also understand people look to have fun with Homestuck and I do understand why they hated it. But the anti-fun was perfectly done. And that was Hussie's intent. You end the comic feeling bad about yourself, feeling bad about comics, about the world about life. Everything in your life is shit.
