Their older brother probably went through something similar, but now he's an athlete and not a troublemaker like Clarissa and (presumably) his younger brother, so he gets along fine with their dad for the moment.

The creator, Jason Youngbluth, will probably do a crowdfunding thing for the second issue sooner rather than later. There was a new Clarissa story in it (Take Your Daughter to Work Day) and a bunch of other very good, short stuff.

Personally, I've seen the brothers only receiving emotional/mental abuse to some degree. The oldest brother feels like he's constantly trying to impress his dad and get his attention, but is constantly overshadowed by Clarissa's issues; he resents Clarissa because of this and acts out against her genuinely believing that she's the reason their family can't be normal. I feel like he had to deal with his dad always shaming him and talking him down when he was younger, so all he really wants is his praise.

That sort of asshole who has a lot of good things going on for him at school but won't be happy until his father acknowledges it.

The middle brother is more aware of how fucked up the situation is, from the way his parents react to how his brother deals with it and it terrifies the hell out of him. Some could interpret this as he's been sexually abused before (I wouldn't doubt it, but something feels off), but I think its more of he doesn't want to risk being outcasted from his family. He wants everyone to like him, so the idea of the majority of his family putting him under the same light as Clarissa scares him; at the same time, he also feels guilt whenever he doesn't support Clarissa and probably tries to comfort her softly or try to distract their father's attention away from her.
