>Grayson
>Omega Men
>Sheriff of Babylon
>Vision

And now Batman.

Is based CIA the chemo saving comics? He literally just started writing comics a year and a half ago and he's never had a bad book. Or hell, a not great book.
>>
>>81862705
He's good but all it takes is one bad book for decision and /co/ will turn on him, this has happened with Snyder, Soule, Lemire, etc. there's not a lot of comic readers on here and a lot of the ones that exist are extremely fickle and reactionary.
>>
>>81862863
>He's good but all it takes is one bad book for decision and /co/ will turn on him, this has happened with Snyder, Soule, Lemire, etc

nigger, Soule has had bad shit but /co/ hasnt turned on him

Lemire has more bad shit than good at this point
>>
>>81862705
Hey guys, did you know that he was a cia agent? Did you know he has seen bad things? Have to say that everytime he makes an appearance.
>>
Hell, if you ignore Grayson, that's 3 god-tier, insta-classic runs. Omega Men is easily the best book of DCYou; Sheriff is the best book of the new Vertigo lineup; and Vision is the best ANAD Marvel book.

/co/ seems to be turning on him already, but the story info we've seen on Batman seems cool as fuck.
>>
>>81863033
He is a writer, writing is emotional, he pours his soul into it. Most of his books are influenced by that darkness so if all you read of him is talking about his writing of course that keeps coming up.
>>
>>81863232
>>81862705
Seriously this nigga went from 0 to 100 in an instant.

How many people do you know who get a comoanies highest selling boom after only working for them for a year, AND after selling like shit.

Hell he broke into dc after only one novel, which was also amazing
>>
>>81862995
>/co/ hasnt turned on him
Haha, what? Nigga you kidding? /co/ turned on him with Inhuman #1 and that was 2 years ago.
>>
>>81863327
I think he was interning at DC before he joined the CIA, but don't quote me on that
>>
>>81863823
Nah, he worked as an assistant for Claremont. Then he went full Patriot after 9/11
>>
>>81863823
>>81863896
He did both.
>>
>>81862863
>He's good but all it takes is one bad book for decision and /co/ will turn on him

You're giving /co/ way too much credit. Zero bad books and he's still getting turned on.
>>
>>81862705
>all flops except for Grayson that sells only because it's a Batman related title

Also

>now Batman

RIP Batman, can't wait for him to be put on the side so that Dick and other batfamily members are showcased and take all the light
>>
>>81864108
Nigga what
>>
>>81862863
>He's good but all it takes is one bad book for decision and /co/ will turn on him
This has only happened with Slott and he wasn't that great to begin with. And the "turning on" of Snyder was due to his popularity not because of a bad book.
>>
>>81863033
please do not bully him, he obviously has PTSD
>>
>>81864051
Tom King MGS book when?
>>
>>81864140
He's saying Tom King is a name that kills sales.
>>
>>81864163
>"turning on" of Snyder was due to his popularity not because of a bad book

This is a million times worse
>>
>>81864163
>"turning on" of Snyder was due to his popularity not because of a bad book
Or because he's overrated.
>>
>>81864209
His output wasn't that great anyways.
>>
>>81864246
>he's this
>or he's that
Same thing.
>>
>>81864246
>>81864268

I agree that Snyder is weak but the anon literally admitted that /co/ turns on writers for reasons that are completely detached form their creative output.
>>
>>81863327
>How many people do you know who get a comoanies highest selling boom after only working for them for a year, AND after selling like shit.
Black Mirror sold about as well as the first half of Grayson, and American Vampire's only slightly above Omega Men.

Sheriff's half of what American Vampire was though
>>
>>81864297
Slott's was cause of his creative output. And it was only further fueled by his reaction to people's opinions on his decisions. And I can see people defending his run uptill the end of Superior but after that the next volume was complete shite. And the current one is the worst kind of mediocre.
>>
>>81864163
The turning on Synder was at least partially because both Swamp Thing and Batman went down hill at the same time.

Then Superman Unchained happened
>>
>>81864304
>American Vampire's only slightly above Omega men
>Sheriff's half of what American Vampire was though
Snyder pls go. Don't you have another Joker erotic fanfic to draw,
>>
>>81864204
That's not at all what he's saying.
>>
>>81864370
Superman Unchained was mostly mediocre honestly. I don't remember much hate for it outside of the threads for it, which i admittedly did not go in many. But yeah his Batman has sufferedsince the end of the Owls arc, which itself had a weak end.
>>
>>81864408
I am sleepy so I could honestly have completely misread that anon's post. But rereading it I can't figure out what else he could be saying. Care to enlighten me?
>>
>>81864297

Yeah, didn't you hear?

Mark Waid tweeted about feminism once so Kingdom Come, The Flash, JLA and his first DD run don't exist anymore.
>>
>>81864476
Kingdom Come had bad writing
>>
>>81862705
You forgot the Green Lantern one-shot, which was the best Hal we've had in years.
>>
>>81863327
Should I read A Once Crowded Sky? It's a superhero novel, right?
>>
>>81864681
Yes.

It's fine. Tom Fowler did some art if that matters.
>>
>>81862705
I have a lot of respect for writers like him and Orlando who do a shitload of research before writing.
>>
>>81864520

Specifically how?
>>
I'm going to call him a hack if he ends his Batman run without introducing Bill Wilson.
>>
Anyone else think he was the perfect ft for Suicide squad? Provided DC didn;t try to turn it into the movie, like they are doing now.
He could've turned it into a political thriller again, focused in the middle east or something. That and Green Lantern is something I want to see from him.
>>
>>81864737
Just looked up some reviews, guess I'll buy it.
Haven't read that many superhero novels that I actually enjoyed. Peter Clines' Ex-Heroes series is the only solid one that comes to my mind.

>>81864769
I'm enjoying the bromance between those two.
>>
>>81864837
Crowdscenes and Image anti-heroes get off my lawn: the mini.
At least he did apologize for perpetuating the "Wonder Woman as bloodthirsty warrior" mischaracterization.
>>
>>81862705
His head looks like an orange
>>
>>81862705
>Grayson

King's a faggot. Turning a member of the Bat-Family into a gun toting super spy is a shit idea and those who like should be ashamed of themselves for supporting this blasphemy.
>>
>>81864473
He's saying King's going to railroad Bruce in favor of Dick and the rest of the Batfam.
>>
>>81864950
>Shortly after the crash
lel
>>
>>81865137
Hey /co/mrade, good to see you've woken up from the coma you were in since mid 2014.
>>
>>81865137
But he doesn't use the gun. Were you this mad when they made him a cop? And the batfam are a,ready technically super spies. He's just not wearing a mask now.
>>
>>81865137
He is a Cia guy, he thinks torturing kids is a good thing and that killing innocent people to protect murrikan imperialism is justified.

He is a good writter, but i can't like him as a person and i'm afraid he is not the right guy for Batman.
>>
>>81865137
just wait for dick being shoehorned into every issue of Batman now with a new "ass meme" joke every time
>>
>>81865370
That was really mostly Seely
>>
>>81865137
What's wrong with changing things up and taking characters in new directions? Or are you one of those guys who only reads Big Two and wants the status quo to remain unchanged forever?

>But

You sure about all that, friend-o.
>>
>>81865493
Hey look a book not written by King
>>
>>81865493
That's Starfire, you can ignore it just like you can ignore his appearance in that one issue of Detective Comics and Batgirl.
>>
>>81865476
Maybe he's one of those people running that not muh Dick Grayson tumblr
>>
>>81865140
Yeah no. Looks to me like you're the one misreading the post.
>>
>>81865301

I really don't want to start a shit storm here but I've been wondering about King's personal politics.

Is he gung-ho MURICA FUCK YEA KILL THE ARABS etc. etc? He seems like a pretty thoughtful guy interested in all sides of the conflict in Omega Men. I know he's talked a bit about PTSD as well.
>>
>>81865707
He thinks calling women girls is sexist.
>>
>>81865707
It was bait, friend.
>>
>>81865795

I know, I didn't mean to respond. His post just made me remember I was thinking about King's politics.
>>
>>81865788
Infantilizing people regardless of gender is pretty degrading, to be fair

Women just catch it more
>>
>>81865301
You've never read a single book of his, have you?
>>
>>81865841
Nothing degrading about referring to a group of men as boys.
>>
>>81865493
>confirmed for not reading Grayson
I hate people like you that shit on things they've never even seen
>>
>>81865841

Yes this is basic common sense but good luck with the onslaught of reaction faces

>Hey

Welp, you got me. That was definitely not written by King...

Pic related however
>>
>>81865707
>Is he gung-ho MURICA FUCK YEA KILL THE ARABS etc. etc?
Sure, that's why he gave us DC's most awesome Muslim character and writes Sheriff of Babylon that is highly sympathetic towards both sides of the Iraq war.
>>
>>81865945
>Time to separate the men from the boys
>>
The Vision is my favorite book I've read in a LONG time and I'm jaded as fuck. I'm checking out Omega Men but I'm probably gonna wait until it concludes

Is Grayson even close to being on the same level as Vision? I know it's a 60's Bond spy comic and the tone is very different, but is the quality as high? Using shit from the Morrison bat Epic is a huge plus for me.
>>
>>81865945
I don't know, anon, when I was watching BvS I was surprised Clark didn't react more negatively to Bruce calling him "son"
>>
>>81866130
It's great

Far more light-hearted due to Seeley's influence, but still top-tier
>>
>>81866130
Omega Men > Sheriff > Grayson >Vision for me
>>
>>81866130
Grayson has a few amazing issues like the Future's End and the desert ones, but it's mostly a light-hearted, more fun read. Dick's characterization is great though, King and Seeley make him an interesting character, which hasn't happened since Morrison's Batman Dick, I think.
>>
>>81866271
I mean there's only a gap of a few years there
>>
>>81866078
>Dick shoots a reanimated corpse
Oh no!
>>
>>81866344
True, but it pains me to see mediocre runs for characters I like, and the Nightwing books are the worst offenders. Hopefully Seeley breaks that pattern.
>>
>>81862705
grayson is just faggot pandering
>>
>>81866479
I read through Hack/Slash recently, made me optimistic
>>
>>81866479
His issues of Grayson were the more lighthearted ones at the very least
>>
>>81866408
He still used a gun
>>
>>81866720
Dick being unwilling to kill or use a gun is actually a pretty major plot point.
>>
>>81866720

No one cares
>>
When should I read the Grayson Annuals and Future's End tie in?

I always have this problem. I really wish the big 2 would come together and stop being so fucky about annuals and tie ins. Give the decimal numbering or something.
>>
>>81864476
Kelly wrote better JLA and Waid gets more praise because his one meme arc about shitty version of Batgod got popular.
>>
>>81866977
Waid Flash is pretty great and he writes a decent Superman

Plus the Ralph Dibny part of 52 seems like his writing primarily
>>
>>81867146

Just stop posting anon. Bring your shit posting back to /tv/ or /v/ or wherever
>>
>>81866933
Futures End was released after issue 2
The first annual was released after issue 5
The second annual was released after issue 13

I think
>>
>>81866518
Nothing wrong about that.
>>
>>81867039
Not denying he's a competent storyteller.
>>

I thought Robin War was pretty bad, but I blame editorial more than him for that.
>>

His issues were pretty good tho
>>
>>81867280
>stuttering memeing faggot

>>

>>
>>81867502

>>
>>81867502
Only if Miller, Way, and King all write a book together.
>>
>>81867577
What?
>>
>>81866720
Yes, in a critical situation after refusing to use one for god knows how many issues and never using it against people other than as a batarang. Your point?
>>
>>81867605
They all were traumatized by 9/11
>>
>>81867605
9/11 ruined Miller, and Way and King chose different careers due to 9/11
>>
>>81867211
fair enough
>>
>>81867639
I keep forgetting Way went into music because of 9/11.

This. He looks like someone a 15 year old girl would like. I'm a man. I've had 23 years to mature and decide what sort of guy I'd fuck. I've compared him with all the men in my life and he cums out on top, drenching me with his hot talent. Marvel, DC and probably Image want him, but none want him more than I.
>>
>>81867737
He needs to get rid of the rest of the hair or wear a hat

>>81867737
He was cuter with the stubble. The clean-shaven look is not that great on him. Still nice tho.
