I fucking wish. Let me tell you the tale of the incompetence that is the MSPA forum team

See, this isn't a crash. The forums were hacked. Some fuck managed to get the password to the server but didn't seem to actually know how to use code. At first, the only thing that got taken down was the main page. The entire page was bare save, in plan text, the words "Change your passwords! THEY'VE BEEN COMPROMISED" and a day later to the words "Under maintenance, be back soon."

Keep in mind the entire rest of the forum was still up. This went on for I think five days. A thread in the administrative forum went up asking what the hell, chronicling the story of a man trying his damnest to take down a website and learn CSS at the same time.

So, naturally, the users contacted the forum admins hoping to stop this guy. I mean, he hadn't actually done anything in five days. That's plenty of time to change a server password right?

Wrong apparently. Nobody on the mod and admin team can contact the person in charge. Despite having all the warning in the world, this guy gets to brute force his way into killing the forums without a finger being lifted to stop him

So people start trying to contact the What Pumpkin Team. Apparently they could only contact a friend of a friend, and the only answer they could get out of them is the two word response "They're gone." leading people to assume the forums are gone forever. So naturally people got a bit upset on Tumblr. They complained not only that the forums are dead, but absolutely nothing has been stated on the matter by anyone in charge. No "We're working on it" or "we are aware it even happened." Just silence.

Until a week later an alledged throwaway accout by a WP team member posted what amounts to "I didn't read your post and well founded complaints, but we're working on it. Don't be entitled and demand that we update you." We have no idea if the account is legit

Will the mspa format ever get a competent regular series?

Not praising you know what, but at least it was updated pretty much daily for a good 2 years and then some.

It just feels like the team actively hates their own fanbase. There was a bit of a movement a while back to split the Forum adventure forum into two. One for original work and another for MSPA derivatives, and this was really wanted and almost needed change. I personally browse to see the storys like Waterworks or Superego. Entirely new works in original worlds. But the forums are also filled with [word]-stuck clones that clog up the place because of how easy it is to make. So we bring it up to the mod team and they flip out. They pretty much said "We don't have to keep hosting you. Be glad we don't delete the Forum Adventure forum."

This came completely out of left field mind you. This was the first sign of things to come. Later they got rid of fucking Forum Games, but in the most retarded way possible. See, they locked the forum down, then linked to a completely different sight to play forum games on in the thread directory. Somehow, this meant they weren't affiliated with MSPA, and thus couldn't hurt their "brand."

Yeah, Homestuck killed its own forum games section because they felt it hurt the homestuck brand. Go figure. In the same thread they proved that they didn't even know it was moderated. The games forums Mod (who was one of the few good mods on the site might I add) woke up one day to find out she's out of the job. They never even contacted her about any of the supposed issues they had with her little section of the forum

The story is still the same but I'm going to do some minor detail changes and get to the point we were at mspaforums lot faster so we can proceed with the story.

4chan mods can be anal about things like anime tiddies on SFW boards, but generally as long as you're somewhat related to the board's topic they'll leave you alone. It also helps they don't do things like tripfag when they post and demand "respect" from us.
I think a big part of it might be anonymity. On other sites you have a username and that ties a reputation to it, so people are naturally going to seek attention and influence like they would in real life, whereas here, you see Anonymous and go 'oh, that's just some guy like me'. So because of that, I think people somehow manage to be a bit more humble on 4chan, and learn to judge people based on what they say, instead of seeing a title or a post count and blindly following.
