Watup /co/, posted a couple other threads about comics I'd read in the past (Seconds and Asterios Polyp) and wanted to continue getting different opinions on shit I liked.

So how about it /co/: Did you like Anya's Ghost?
>>
To start off, I enjoyed it and would put it a solid above average. Brogsol didn't do much with the medium; fairly standard panels and scene-framing. I did like Anya and the story overall, but I feel like a lot was lost on the reader unless you're a moody teenage girl.

That said, holy shit the linework and character design is gorgeous.

I was unpleased enough to return it to Barnes and Noble after reading it. But to be fair I was low on cash at the time and I really shouldn't have bought it in the first place.

You can return books at B&N?
>>
>>81462283
You can return most things to most stores. B&N can basically be used like a library.

Just never occurred to me with B&N, since like you said, that essentially turns it into a library.

It is very sweet and short and probably appeals much to teenagers and especially girls. Consider it the graphic novel equivalent of a young adult book.

Emily is my waifu.

That is not a boy, is it?

>>81461385
according to neil gaiman this is one of the best work in english literature
>>
>>81461385
I skimmed through a few pages in the store, and then and there instantly knew it was good. Bought, read, loved.
>>
>>81461385
I enjoyed it. Interesting premise and characters, nice art
>>
>>81461385
Better than 80% of First second's out put....yeah, I liked it. Very nice art and storytelling (or "panelling" as /co/ insists on calling it), nothing earth-shattering but a nice, comfy comic nonetheless

I like Neil, but I can't really trust in his word, that man is a mystery.

I loved a Nya's Ghost

The artist works at (or worked) at Laika now, so pretty cool. Paranorman definitely feels a lot like this comic did.

It was a nice read. Nothing too special story-wise, but Anya's proportions are spot-on in my book...

I'm a big fan of this sort of "A kid and his deceased buddy" stories, though. Does anyone know of any other good stuff with a similar premise?

You could try the Beetlejuice cartoon.
