It gets really pronounced in the New52 because both Bane and Killer Croc have the same shtick - teaching the underdog to be strong. Although Croc has the whole "fighting for the repressed underclass" thing locked down, aside from the eating people bit.

Bane has never come across as a luchador supervillain/hero to me though. Yeah I know his appearance is based off of luchas and all, but to me it always just seemed like he just threw on a lucha mask and called it a day.

The Thing's solo comic was about wrestling in the UCWF for a considerable time. Also Marvel had a stable of evil female wrestlers called The Grapplers that doesn't show up enough. Screaming Mimi was a member and it is a shame that Songbird never pulls out a northern lights suplex for old time's sake.
