Haven't seen the TPB release of Godzilla In Hell posted here, so I'm gonna storytime it.

Well now. I have to get something then.
>>81198558
Glad you could join the storytime
>>81198817
So every other kaiju besides Godzilla is possessed by a demon
>>81198910
Pretty much, later on some shenanigans happen with Spacegodzilla. But don't expect this series to make sense.
>>81198966
then i guess those kaijus were weak-willed or something.
>>81198696
Man, I really wish this segment had went without any captions; they really detract from the amazing artwork.
>>81199039
I don't mind the captions but I'd definitely like a version with just the art. Imagine an oversized hardcover just showing off Eggleton's work.
>>81198966
"I have made a terrible mistake". - Varan
>>81199096
Even as a demon he ain't shit compared to Godzilla
>>81199110
>Even as a demon he ain't shit compared to Godzilla
Barring about three characters, that's true of every kaiju.
>>81199110
>everything is destroyed
>moguera and mechagodzilla are destroyed
>meteors hitting the earth
>only godzilla and spacegodzilla remain
i like to think this is just another brotherly fight between the two that caused this
>>81199534
Yeah I like the antagonism that segment established between them. But Godzilla's wasn't having any of that good vs evil shit, he's going his own way.
I still don't know what's up with that decapitated head
>>81199898
>>81199920
>>81199940
>>81199965
>dying over and over again
This is the worst realm of hell godzilla has to go through
Also
>Destroyah and Ghidorah hate Godzilla so much they'll willing stop fighting each other for a moment to kill Godzill
>>81199898
This whole segment just seems completely out of place and tone with the rest of the series.
>>81198595
that subtle metaphor for hoes
Sorry about the delay
Thanks OP.
Just in time for Godzilla Oblivion wich comes this 30.
I like that it includes the section about Bob Eggleton's inspirations he wrote for issue 2.
>>81201185
Yep, that's what reminded me of Godzilla in Hell. Looking forward to Oblivion, from the synopsis it sounds quite sci-fi.
And there we go.
I think the presentation in this trade was a little bland, but the comic as a whole was as crazy as I remember. I'd forgotten how beautiful issue 5 was, I want a whole series illustrated by that guy.
>>81198332
Was posted awhile back but thanks for sharing again.
Now we know why godzilla comes back stronger everytime he dies.
>>81199231
>>81199247
So Godzilla meets "God" and it asks for peace...
>>81199264
Only Godzilla would give that perfect a response.
>>81201663
There's been a few storytimes but I don't think this collected version has been posted before
>>81201731
I think that's meant to be mount purgatory from the Divine Comedy, but it could easily be a lovecraftian version of God too.
>>81200711 his face looked like that.
I remember when we first storytimed the last issue and everyone went nuts over the last few pages. Good times.
>>81203456
It was an incredible ending. I think #1, #3, and #5 really used the journey through hell premise well, #2 and #4 are pretty boring but at least #2 has Eggleton's amazing art.
>>81201105
For a moment I thought it was this.
>>81203456
I do too.
Dang, though, this is such a cool premise.
Also a bump
>>81198576
>Godzilla's waifu is a grizzled and scarred badass who is even bigger than himself
A+ fetishes G-Man. Amazons are where it's at.
Can we accurately say that this is one of the high points of the entire medium?
Half Century War was a homage to Godzilla's history, Cataclysm was a post-apocalyptic story, this one went to hell, the next one Oblivion is going to a paralel dimension with no monsters like ours.
What's next? Space? Time travel? Crossover?
>>81212902
>Crossover?
There was an unlicensed crossover with Mr. Monster (they had to rename him "Gorzilla"). It was great. They should do more crossovers with the character.
>>81214638
At least make it a big g bump
>>81212902
Meta story where the movies exist as movies and the monsters are actors.
>>81201435
Thanks for the story time OP. This takes me back to when it was first storytimed, it was a blast. Very few threads were as enjoyable as this and the Archie vs Predator ones.
>>81218891
kek
>>81216111
Kekked and checked.
>>81199463
>Fuck you guys, I'm going home.
>>81216111
Amazing
>>81212902
We've also had a gangster story, a Jason Statham lookalike action story, and sci-fi aliens. Dark Horse did a time travel storyline.
IDW has so many properties they could do some great crossovers, but Toho is mighty protective. Hopefully Godzilla In Hell is a sign they're giving IDW more freedom.
I'm still not sure if Rodan, Anguirus and Varan from the second issue are hellish imitations or the originals being possesed.
And I don't think we can look at the other issues for clues because of the different people involved.
>>81199481
Oh how come there has never been a Godzilla film where he levels Rio?
>>81220528
>Return of Godzilla
>average
fuck that, that film is pure kino, probaly almost as good as the original film
Don't know about the 1985 Re-cut, tho
>>81198634
huh, I always forgot Goji could do karate chops
>>81198874
wow, didn't even put up a fight
>anguirus putting up a fight
>>81199091
...I don't remember Jet Jaguar having V fin
is that a gundam?!
>>81226982
>>/trash/
>>81199425
>literally becomes god
>>81200840
so it just means Godzilla is a buddhist
>expecting an asian kaiju to be catholic
>>81199110
>Jesus: IN THIS CORNER, WEIGHTING A SHITLOAD OF TONS AND BREATHING FIRE OR NUCLEAR LASERS OR WATHEVER, THE KING OF THE MONSTER, GOOOOOJIIIIIIIRAAAAAAA!!!!
>Jesus: AND IN THIS CORNER, WITH MORE CRYSTAL IN HIS SYSTEM THAN ALL THE ADDICTS IN THIS ENTIRE CITY PUT TOGUETHER, COMING FROM A WHITE HOLE, SPAAAAAAACE GOOODZIIILAAAAAAAAA!!!!
>Jesus: PARTICIPANTS.... Oh shi- >>81199195
>>81199195
>Godzilla comes from hell along with Space Godzilla and fucking destroys Earth and everyone in it
Just like God intended
>>81227822
>Destroy the whole world
>God gives you a chance to serve him in the afterlife
>Tell him to fuck off and end up in hell
Godzilla really brings this shit on himself.
>>81200057
This one and the 3rd one don't feel like they belong. The first two go together fine, they have some continuity. The 3rd and 4th seem random and out of place.
>>81198966
>God? Is that you?
>>81198982
>OF FUCK
