Why they are no longer making animated shows based on movies? Why they won't make Pacific Rim: The Animated Series or James Cameron's Avatar: The Animated Series etc.?
>>
They made Tron: Uprising and Star Wars: Rebels.
>>
Fuck off, /tv/shitter
>>>/tv/67557460
>>
I completely forgot about the Jumanji cartoon until you mentioned it

I don't know what to do anymore
>>
I'd like an Avatar show if it depicted how Jake Sully's actions ultimately doomed the Na'vi. They are clearly hostile, diplomacy is not an option, least of all with Sully riling them up, and now it's up to a team of mech pilots to learn that a collective intelligence the size of a planet is no match for the power of friendship.
>>
>>81191354
That sounds retarded.
>>
>>81191224
This is a /co/ topic man.

We have internet now and people forget about movies much quicker these days.

>Pacific Rim: The Animated Series

Del Toro said it was getting made, but I think it might've been cancelled since we haven't heard from it.

I think it was the one Greg Weisman started to work on last year that was based on a cool franchise, but was shelved when Pacific Rim 2 was "cancelled" around the same time.

They do. All the fucking time. I know /co/ doesn't read comics, but do they not watch cartoons anymore?

Seriously, if you'd actually watch cartoons, you'd see them.
>>
>>81191822
Does that count as based on a movie when the movie was based on a cartoon?
>>
>>81191926
Yes, because it's a cartoon based on a movie.
>>
>>81191822
>>81191855
I think OP meant cartoons based on live-action films
>>
>>81191958
A cartoon based on a movie based on a cartoon. The source material is a cartoon.

All of the movies OP listed as examples were live-action movies, though. They do still make cartoon shows based on movies, but they don't seem to make as many cartoon shows based on live-action movies anymore. There was this trend of a lot of adult-oriented movies getting a softer kid-friendly cartoon spinoff in the 80s and 90s:

>>81191354
That sounds awesome.
>>
>>>81191196
Name one recent live action box office hit that should reasonably have an animated series.

>The multiple Marvel movies and Starwars don't count.
>We have a starwars series. And multiple marvel animated shows.
>>
>>81193529
Mad Max.

Jurassic World.
>>
>>81192034
Yeah, and the source material for half of the shit in OP are comic books.

What's your point, idiot?

>>81191196
Is this you OP?

>>81193717
There's a difference between a cartoon based on a comic and a cartoon based on a cartoon.
>>
>>81193815
Not really.
>>
>>81191196
>James Cameron's Avatar: The Animated Series
Simply epic.
>>
>>81193922
Yes really. One's an adaptation, the other is a reboot.

>>81191196
>>81193946
Avatar does have an animated series though :^)
>>
>>81193685
There was almost a cartoon based on the first Jurassic Park film. Almost...
>>
>>81191196
>Pacific Rim: The Animated Series
That is/was actually in the works though. Not entirely sure about its fate now that Pacific Rim 2 is probably coming out
