Mercy was actually kind of cool in the DCAU as a sexy chauffeur/bodyguard for Lex. I was disappointed that they made her into a simple yellowwashed assistant.

The Nolanverse was a prime example of dark and gritty and they had time for Bruce to crack jokes with Lucius and have all those talks with Alfred. There was no reason to kill Jimmy off, if they were going to dump Clark at the Planet. If the movies were going to be he's Superman 24/7, then all that was just a waste of space.
