From the perspective of social identity, clothing is symbolic is group membership. Given that humans are social animals that identify with their own "tribes" of ingroup members while ignoring or ostracizing outgroup members, the symbolic use of clothing can easily serve as a sign that a person is a member of a shared ingroup identity.

Clothing plays a huge role in how we identify and with what social groups we hold membership. In the same vein, it affects how all others perceive us and our social identity. This is more than just wearing a Batman T-shirt. Consider how you can visually identify members of a social group (goth, hipster, professional) by looking at their clothing.

I'm a PhD student who studies games, fandom, and social identity. My thesis is actually on the importance of clothing in MMOs. It's really cool shit.

I have pretty big knowledge about comics due to /co/.

I've been browsing this board for years (before Homosuck and MLPocalyse, when /co/ was best board on 4chainz) and honestly the only comics I have read in my life are:
Batman Venom
Maximum Carnage
Killing Joke

The thing is I've browsed so many threads and read so many wikipedia pages I just have this knowledge even though I am not really a comics guy.

Saw a lot of animated movies/series though, that's why cam here in first place.

Pick one.

You may have a knowledge of the characters and the plotlines, but there are so many things to know about comics that you can only get from reading the comics themselves.

Sales have been depleting since the 90s and you have mostly normalfags buying all of these awful books that the companies have been releasing, because they don't have taste and will buy anything relating to a movie they saw (hence Civil War 2 being a thing that's going to happen)

When it comes to "comics", /co/ is not really dedicated to comics. /co/ is dedicated to one genre.
