i get that you've got qualms about societal notions of the various forms of love, and that's right on, but you're just like shippers in biasing what you see through that lens! the writers aren't doing any of this accidentally; they've picked a weird narrow space in which to imply things about the nature of the relationship, and they're getting on with it. it's all done ambiguously, which is irritating as hell, but it doesn't feel like trolling in the way it used to. and it might even be going somewhere later.

i'd argue that last bit is true of the show in general - seems to me it's moving out of a very weird period of cynicism, bad natured and mostly pointless story arcs, and a lot of that stupid mysticism that... certain boarders loved to ladle all over it. it's finally starting to feel good natured and fun again. but this is just imho obvs.

Is it me or was that like, very boring, slow paced and stilted? Even more than the show usually is at this point?

Even when ostensibly interesting things were happening in the episode the characters were talking so slowly and didn't seem invested. There wasn't really much reason to care about anything. Plus nothing even happened this episode.

I got a laugh from Betty talking about how "that would be something to make you remember me" but that was it.

So, what was really the point of this episode? I mean, outside of PB showing some caring towards Simon, all this did was undo what 'Magic Woman' did previously. And you guys have shown me why she did more harm than good, with the whole Orgalorg thing, but it still feels pretty meh from a story perspective. Not that I expected them to heal Simon without ads hyping it to the extreme, but I just expected more I guess.

Hopefully it does have a bigger impact over all. I'll need to give it a re-watch after work tonight. It was nice seeing Gunther again, but I really thought there'd be more people in the crown town than the 4 we saw, though I guess that got handwaved with Gunther's comment about the crown forcibly moving everyone around their dimension.

Honestly, I'm in the boat that the episode didn't really have anything happen.
