Jasper is still antagonistic and stages attacks on the gems to get the to relent, each time with her being repelled and Steven trying to get her to join.

It'd require her to be saved from shattering at least once though so what he says gets to sink in. Eventually she'd drop in peridodically to train with Steven and talk to him, trying to figure out why Rose ( him) adpoted this form and this way of life. It'd be an increibly slow burn, but she'd be like Piccolo for a while. and then finally be the bara mom we'd want.

Most scenarios involve her being aggressive because that speaks to her character, but theere's a much worse way to do it.

Another alternative form this point would be Jasper getting her mmemory back suddenly and genuinely questioning why Rose took care of her and understanding him better.

I do think that Pearl's relationship with Steven is healthier than it was with Rose, but I wouldn't really say that she loves him more than Rose. As far as we know, Rose gave her freedom and individuality, and they fought in a war and have lived together with Garnet and Amethyst for thousands of years. But Steven is 14 years old, and she probably didn't visit him until he was ~5-7 years old, and have spent the more recent years training him together with Garnet and Amethyst.

Well I meant SU but I get what you mean. Eva was good in that it was revolutionary for it's time, it hasn't aged terribly well and the bloated mess that erupted from it's carcass is appauling.

However it's inital themes of deconstructing the genere, building charcters with flaws, and interesting visuals are still something to behold. Unfortunately the filler bits and occasional meandering become way more apparent when you look back on it.

Basically it's a classic because of what it openeed the door to and the nuggets contained within.
