Shitty writing and waifus, waifus without good animation or writing will not make most people stick around.
Hopefully they use the fucking money they have made to hire an animator that knows how to do the job beyond a self taught hackjobittogether and make it work.
What they did was by no means professional, well impressive, it is not good, it's like wiring a calculator in minecraft, then using it as a calculator for everyday use. The act of doing it is cool, trying to use it in practical application is not.

I could easily see it being a clash of change of direction of the series (tech/story/animation/tone etc), especially given that Miles&Kerry are currently leading the reins of the show, but Shane has technically been involved with it longer.
