/co/, What cartoon moment scared you to the point where it gave you nightmares?
>>
Anything remotely eerie on TV usually did this until I was about 10, after which it suddenly stopped. Courage The Cowardly Dog, Luigi's Mansion, and even the original The Brave Little Toaster movie scared the shit out of me until I was a preteen.
>>
I only got scared by real life when I was a kid. Cartoons can try to recreate fear but it just doesn't work on me.
>>
BOOM CHAKA CHAKA

Anyone else having problems posting?

that one "what a toon" or whatever theyre called with the worm and then it gets trampled and gets acid on its face and the whole face gets disfigured, and then they have that 'gross closeup' of disfigured worm face.

couldn't watch Courage for years because I thought every episode was as scary as this one.
>>
Jesus fucking christ /co/...Did you all wear diapers to make sure you didn't piss yourself in fear from seeing daffy get hit with a mallet too?
>>
The episode with windmill vikings scared the shit out of me too along with this one.

Courage was straight up nightmare fuel.

>>
>>78663826
I truly didn't find this scary and don't get why it got so many people. Now that girl Courage saw in that hotel room in the one episode? Scared the pissed out of me.
>>
>>78663826
Hey Arnold episode with the ghost train conductor. Also the one with the carriage driver who was hanged by his scarf. Other than that I've never had that problem.

When I was a young anon, I saw the Corpse Bride trailer, which did not really emphasize how much of a comedy the movie is.

Nightmares for fucking weeks.
>>
>>78665473
It was "Tales of a Worm Paranoia".

Courage was banned in my house. Pretty sure this was the episode that did it.
>>
>>78663826
No cartoon...but I did have a nightmare about the moon from Majora's Mask falling to earth.
>>
None, my nightmares were always way worse than anything cartoons could offer, I had a bad case of night terrors.
But a moment that did spooped me was the end of one Arnold episode where the ghost comes back for his glasses.
>>
>>78663826
Not fucking King Ramses because that shit was never, EVER scary.

Not even when I was 5 and I first saw that episode when it came out did it scare me.

The earliest I can remember is the sand tiger head in Alladin, when I was five.

Otherwise there's a lot of treehouse of horror from early Simpsons like pic related, and Hugo looking at Bart from the vent always creeped me the fuck out.

When I was REALLY little, like still holding hands in stores with parents and not in school yet little, I had a nightmare involving a literal Dracula vampire, black and white movie style, stalking me through the grocery store cereal aisle (which at the time seemed as big as a building), which I had thought was a halloween cardboard cutout advertising something. It had tubes instead of fangs which went into my collar rather than neck and didn't stop until they poked out my back and looped back into my gut. Then I woke up screaming.

No idea what brought it on, or whether it was caused by a movie or commercial or actual cardboard cut out. All I remember is the nightmare and how relieved I was that I hadn't wet myself.

When I was ten, the movie theater Nosferatu episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark was more spooky to me because of it.

Was he Count Chocula?
>>
>>78675359
No, I never knew about that cereal until years later. I never actually made that connection before though, its an interesting coincidence.

Apparently that episode was subsequently pulled from airing because it supposedly scared the shit out of so many kids.

I know it scared the shit out of me. It just looks so uncanny.

For me it was an episode of Ghostbusters. Sure when you watch a (good) cartoon about ghosts, you are bout to expect something scary, but this creeped me out beyond ends
It was the episode "Egon on the Rampage" in which Egons soul is trapped in a ghost world, which peter is tasked to find. Eventually he does find him, but just to find him like pic related, tied up as a jumping mat used by a monster. Him screaming "Heeeelp" doesn't help either

Too late for me, I watched the episode with the original audio. That episode has scared me ever since.
