I'm glad other people liked it. I tried to watch it and gave up after about 10 minutes because it didn't grab me right away. Watched it again like 5 months later and absolutely loved it. The story wasn't that unique (I think it was based off of some old tale or something so that makes sense) but the movie was gorgeous and the story was told so well.

The type of stop-motion puppet they use have a separate upper and lower part of the face for more combinations of expressions. Laika films have them too but they're edited out of every frame in post production, I'm not sure why they couldn't be bothered to do that here because it makes whole thing look cheap and lazy.

To be honest I had to rewatch it a second time. First time, I didn't appreciate it as much due to the urine in my bladder and that I went in blind expecting the movie to happen in some city like Book of Eli.

You literally have things like publicists, corporate executives, and producers voting on stuff like best animated film. Then of course there are guys who got a membership by being friends with and getting sponsored by friends who were already in.
