It pretty much is everywhere else, too. It's a marketing holiday about buying shit and eating tons of food. Everywhere you go (in America at least), you'll see Christmas lights and pine trees and Santa Claus and hear music about winter and snow, none of it is about Jesus. Not to mention most of the Christmas traditions like the tree come from pagan rituals.

If you want to celebrate Christmas for its religious values, that's great, but there's nothing wrong with not being religious and still celebrating it, because most of the imagery has nothing to do with Jesus.

but i am an atheist who also celebrates christmas. It's a nice fun holiday to give and receive presents and have fun with the people you love.
