Now that the dust has settledie, a good HD rip is out
What did you think of the best animated movie of the year?
Well, I wouldn't count a DVD Screener as a good HD Rip.
how would i know.
IT'S NOT EVEN OUT IN THE UK YET.
FUCKING HELL

>What did you think of the best animated movie of the year?
Inside out was great.I still haven't seen Peanuts, being a filthy Britbong, we got it later.
As a lifelong Peanuts fan, I really enjoyed it. It was true to the original, it looked great, everyone was in character and I was smiling almost the entire time.
My favorite movie period this year.
It and Inside Out are definitely tied for me. Both resonated with me on a personal level. However, seeing a true and faithful conclusion to the Peanuts after all these years is something you cannot beat in my mind.
On a side note, I know people don't like pop-music, but the scene where Charlie is learning how to dance melted my icy heart
>>78298199
That was really carried by being a bit more low key and used in the right spots.
It didn;t take over the scene like most pop song inclusions do.
>>78297832
Been out for at least a month in the UK. It's still showing in Cineworld cinemas.
>>78298214
That's a good point. The movie reminded me a lot of the 2011 Winnie the Pooh. Not overly complicated, not technically amazing, but so comfortable and personal that is leaves a lasting impression. Though this movie gets points for not being like an hour long.
>>78298592
Yeah, not high on stakes but high on the ins and out of the characters.
Pigpen was the best
As far as 2015 movies go that strictly adhere to the source material, are carefully calculated, and don't take any risks in order to ensure bland entertainment, Peanuts wasbetter than Star Wars
>good HD rip
Where?

Link please?
>>78301336
bump because I don't believe there is any HD rip
also, Inside Out is best movie of the year
Shame it didn't do that well at the box office.
>>78297736
It was definitely better than anything else in theaters this year, with IO the only thing coming close to it.
>>78297736
Why is it called "The Peanuts Movie" if it's a Charlie Brown Movie?
>>78304858
Because that's the name of the strip
>>78304874
The strip is called "Peanuts", not "The Peanuts Movie". Have you even read it?
it was really cute
needed more of the best ship though
It was fantastic.
>>78305046
This. That ship needs more love.
Damn good movie, but maybe a bit too focused on Charlie Brown to the detriment of all the other characters.
Linus and Peppermint Party hardly got anything to do or say.
That aside, it was wonderful and I would love to see more, although I hear the contract was only for a single film and they've no plans for followups.
I haven't seen an animated movie since BH6
If anyone wants to list what's been good since then I might watch them
>>78305427
Little Prince
little witch academia 2 (watch the first one as well if you haven't)
Shaun the sheep
Inside Out
There was some definite heresy
>>78306528
Fuck you.
Patty having a crush on Pigpen was adorable.
>>78306650
I was actually more talking about him being clean.
That's just not right.
The crush was so cute.
>those dirt heart clouds
>>78297736
>What did you think of the best animated movie of the year?Little Witch Academia 2
>>78306528
Pig Pen getting clean as a gag is one of the character's staples, are you kidding?
>>78307275
>are you kidding?
Yes.
Especially due to Patty's reaction being pretty funny in itself.
>>78298784
How was it bland? The Snoopy bits were even zanier and fast-paced than they ever were in the specials.
>>78307328
The score really helped keep those segments punchy
>>78297736
I don't know /co/. The Peanuts Movie was fine to reminisce but really was it REALLY that great?
All I got from watching it was Blue Sky Studios telling me,
"HEY REMEMBER THE PEANUTS?!"
"REMEMBER SNOPPY AND THE RED BARON?"
"REMEMBER ALL THOSE MEMORABLE LINES AND TROPES THAT YOU LOVED DURING THOSE TV HOLIDAY SPECIALS!?"
"REMEMBER REMEMBER REMEMBER???"
I hardly payed any attention to the main story, because I cringed to all the references all the old tv specials.
I'm mean I guess, it's fine. We can show this movie to our kids in hopes for them to catch interest towards the Peanuts.
Or we could just show them the much better tv specials.
>>78307662crawling on my skin
Is it really good? Because I won't watch it if it has any pop music or cringe worthy dance scenes like Hotel Transylvania 2
>>78311041
When I say pop music I mean a shit ton, I'm fine with one little scene but if pop music fills up the entire movie then no thanks
>>78305046
>>78305163
Are there more scenes like this. Or is this and that hand on hand scene all we get for Chuck and Patty?
My favorite movie, it beat Inside Out. It just felt so nice and heartwarming seeing Chuck win after being repeatedly shat on.
>>78311059
No it only has two pop songs. The first one fits really well but I didn't like the second one. You should still see it.
>>78297736
Can i enjoy the movie if i know near to nothing about the Peanuts or does it play too much on nostalgia/older stories?
>>78297736
I'm yuuropoor, it's not even out yet over here. It's like they want us to download.
It was the same shit with Wreck it Ralph
>>78304041
>>78301336
>implying people are just going to post a link to a free movie
Google it or just do it the easy way and buy a ticket/wait for the DVD.
>>78301336
Look it up your damn self.
>>78297736
I honestly teared up whenthe Little Red Head girl acknowledged Charlie Brown's existence.
I've been waiting for that since I was six.
>>78313290
It premieres this week actually.
Really bad time though, you know, Star Wars.
>>78313090
It's supposed to introduce a new generation to the characters and their shticks, so you should be fine.
It's sort of a "Best Of Peanuts" at times, but they do it in a way where they're introducing the jokes rather than just going "REMEMBER THIS?" like giving an origin to Snoopy's Red Baron fantasies or taking time to establish Charlie Brown's kite troubles.
>>78311270
>Or is this and that hand on hand scene all we get for Chuck and Patty?
That's it, yeah.
>>78298050
If by in character you mean referencing something they already said in a past show and fading back into the background then sure they were perfect.
>>78311270
It was just there and forgotten bro.
>>78311270
There was also the scene were Sally told Charlie his "girlfriend" called and it was Patty telling Chuck to bring food for the winter dance.
>>78307662
I don't think this would be a good movie to show to kids, when I watched it first weekend, the kids in the theatre towards the end were shuffling and complaining, wanting the movie to end. I think they were expecting something more fast paced and lowbrow.
>>78315183
>>78315840
That's unfortunate. I mean I already got spoiled of the fact thatChuck actually gets red head to notice him., but was hoping the teasing with Patty would go somewhere this time. Especially since /co/ likes to have threads about the couple recently.I only really care because Peanuts doesn't really have an active fanfic scene. Can't get my cute anywhere.
Will probably see the movie when it comes to DVD though.

Pig Pen is quite cute when clean.
>>78315033
It's not the first time it's happened.
>>78313290
Here in the UK there were 'preview weekends', on the 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th of December, which prompted me to go to the first screening of the first one).
>>78315094
The origin of the typewriter was the best thing
>Oooooo
>>78305163
There could always be a new series sparked by interest in this film with the same writers and voice actors.
That's another thing: the child voice actors were all really good. Especially Charlie Brown, Lucy and Peppermint Patty.
>>78318889
Paddy's voice was too feminine, she should be voiced by a boy.
Also don't use the same writers, they would overuse snoopy again and wouldn't have the subtle touch the old ones had.
>>78319809
>Peppermint Patty's voice was too feminine
Peppermint Patty's voice was fine. Also there's plenty of specials where her voice is WAAAAAY more feminine than that.
>>78297736
>ie, a good HD rip is out
Just go see the movie anon. No one is going to be inside to laugh at your loneliness anyway.
>>78322417
Not that anon but no theater in my area had it. I'd have to drive out of state to see it.
>>78315924
Really? I thought my 5 brothers to see it, with their ages ranging from 12 to 5, and they all loved it. They don't even know anything about them outside of the specials, but they didn't need to since the movie did a fantastic job explaining everything in a subtle way.
