/a/ has Neon Genesis Evangelion
/lit/ has Blood Meridan
/mu/ has Loveless
/tv/ has The Wire
/v/ has Deus Ex
/vr/ has DOOM
What is /co/'s holy jewel?
Simply because those are my favorite Disney princess's
/co/ is not an entity. It's not one being.
I'd say man of steel as well for the simple reason that everyone can't spend a damn day without talking about it
Whether you like it or not.
btas. i don't think it's the greatest cartoon ever, but i do think it's a great example of what cartoons can be.
The most "hate" I've ever seen for this show are people saying they like Korra better. There are daily threads going on years after it ended. Pretty good.
What is the /co/ equivalent of The Room?
Tails Get Trolled.
Hum...but the difference is tat TGT is actually well crafted regarding plot and character development....
something made by an indie creator which is bizarre and infamous for its badness, whose creator is almost as fascinating, if not more so? Ahem.
No, Foodfight is /co/'s Duke Nukem Forever.
In The Aeroplane Over the Sea isn't anything like The Unfunnies, though, it's just exceptionally overrated by /mu/, even if they're doing it ironically.
I'd almost describe it as 'aggressively mediocre'.
The /co/ thing I'd most compare to ITAOTS is The Simpsons, taken as a whole. Talked about way too much, more or less 'eh' if you take the average of everything, and memetastic
/a/'s Jewel is Code Geass.
People will admit that NGE is more important to the medium, but I have never seen anyone say anything bad about Code Geass other than it's overrated or entry tier.
I will never understand what /a/ sees on that show. I even tried watching and I stopped real quickly.
The story is pretty shitty, the character design is derivative and the animation is bog standard.
I'll admit, I'm not into anime, only heard about it from friends, but isn't that the one with the stupid twist where
one of the big villains is only evil because the MC accidentally mind controlled her into being evil while demonstrating how his mind control works?
Loveless is a weird choice for /mu/. Sure it is a beloved classic, but it isn't discussed to the degree that In the Aeroplane over the Sea or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is. On the other hand /mu/ does not have even remotely unified taste, it is a splintered board full of people who like their one genre and nothing else. People who like shoegaze go to shoegaze threads, people who like hip hop go to hip hop threads, people who like noise go to noise threads, etc... but these people really don't mingle or get along. The same thing goes for /co/ which is why this thread is full of stupid answers that no one can agree on.
she isn't a villain. She is pretty much the only 100% good character in the show, and she almost solves the entire conflict, but then the MC accidentally mind controls her into murdering a lot of innocent people, which forces him to kill her. It sounds dumb but off all the dumb things in the show, it's actually presented well, and not as a twist
>/mu/ has loveless
>not ITAOTS, The Money Store, MBDTF or ITCOTCK
one of these, I'd say BTAS.
literally seen that discussed here like once or twice.
>/a/ has Neon Genesis Evangelion
>not Infinite Jest for /lit/
>not ITAOTS for /mu/
The thing about NGE and /a/ is that, while its quality is always debated and contested, its imagery is immediately recognizable. There is an immediate mental link between NGE and /a/. When asking the question "What is the Evangelion of X" you definitely aren't asking "What is the work that this board agrees is a masterpiece?" because /a/ would never agree on that.
Legend of Korra
Search your feelings, you know it to be true. Those who love it gush endlessly about it. And others live to pour their hate out upon it to the point that they would be bored without it. /co/ is hate and Legend of Korra is /co/'s hatefuck.
Watchmen is pretty much like Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Deconstructionist tale of a popular genre of its medium told by a pretentious overrated auteur with weird facial hair and a utter contempt for fans of his industry.
I thought her solution was anti-climatic and wouldn't have solved anything for real, so I didn't mind what happened. There are also other good people but I am too tired to list them.
I think it's because /co/ is too disunified since its comics AND cartoons (to mirror /a/ because moot was a stupid fucking weeb like that) even though Western comics and cartoons are a lot more different than anime and manga. Would the "holy jewel" of /co/ be a comic or a cartoon?
This is wrong, all the people saying ITAOTS are also wrong. Go make a thread praising ITAOTS right now and half the thread will be people talking about how shit it is. I'd say Trout Mask Replica spork memes aside is probably /mu/'s holy grail. It's hard to do due to the vastly different genres and how they all have their own holy grails.
Nothing to bitch about.
Yes there are. Actually watch it.
There are regular threads about both. You must be totally new.
>that fairy being eaten alive by that plant thing
aw yea baby...
