In moral philosophy, there's an interesting thought experiment about moral intuitions.

Imagine a railroad. There's a fork in it, and you're standing at the switch. There's a train coming, and the railroad the switch is currently set on, has 5 people standing on it. They can't hear or see you, or the train. You can't warn the train, and even if you could, it wouldn't be able to stop in time. But, you can pull the switch, and make the train divert to the other railroad. That railroad is also occupied, but only by a single individual, who also can't hear or see you or the train. Do you pull the switch?

Now, keep that answer in mind, because there's a second part to the thought experiment.

Imagine a railroad. It's a single road this time, just with a bridge over (across?) it. Again, a train, again 5 people who can't hear or see anything. You're standing on top of the bridge, overlooking the situation, and next to you is standing another person. You realize that if you push them off the bridge, onto the railroad, it will stop the train in time to save the lives of the 5 people. (Maybe they're that fucking fat and massive, maybe it's his meat and bones clogging up the wheels or somthing that's enough to make it happen. How isn't the point, you just know that it will). Knowing this, will you push that person to his death, saving the lives of the 5 others?

There is no right answer, ofcourse. But this question has been asked to thousands of people, and eventhough objectively, the two acts seem identical (1 life against 5), it's interesting to note that most people pull the switch, killing that one person, but most people refuse to push that same person off the bridge. Apparently, we intuitively make a meaningful difference between the two acts.

I think this is an example of that. DD is in a similar choice. Either be responsible for a death, or actively kill a person. And eventhough they seem identical on paper, intuitively, most people see them as different.

That general attitude of "Everything before Ennis sucked" and the hatred for the white boots costume because "It's not practical," or "it's not realistic." I'm also not fond of the need to throw Frank into overt tactical gear, I get shit for it, but that's just me.

You'd have to have the forearm and hand completely bound in several layers of tape or chain in order to restrict the possible target area to something as small as a head.
