I think your powers were feared because you killed a bunch of muties for fun.
> Chthon is one of the greatest Marvel villains, a lovecraftian asshole who enjoys fucking shit up.
> Adds a fascinating dynamic with Wanda as benefactor and enemy which is far, far more interesting than Magneto ever was.
> tfw Writers keep ignoring cheeky Uncle Chthon.
You know how when you ink a picture but because you didn't clean the rough pencil lines you fuck up? That's what Del Rey's art brings to mind.
Marco Rudy is God Tier, though.
On the plus side...Tula Lotay will likely deliver in spades.
This was all I could find for a preview of Dillon's Wanda.
Yeah Uncanny Avengers annual hinted at a big bad known by many names, and Emerald Warlock fucking witchcraft is Chthon's means of getting Wanda's attention (even Elder God's can feel neglected).
> That feel when artist is ill-suited to the material...yet odd fascination.
> Set's like the fat guy who greedily eats all the pies Gaea made.
> Oshtur is surprised by the pies and enjoys the new taste.
> Chthon is surprised and pissed off at the surprise taste so pisses on the pies to see what happens.
Why? Seems like a formula for miscommunication issues. To get ppl to buy like how IM had over 100 variants.
I was excited for this book but Marvel has too many iffy artists.
He mentioned he didn't get a chance to do that. He wanted wedding day sex.
No, Doom was just taking the rap to spare his waifu.
We all know who the true villain was...
The editor said she wanted a Carmen Sandiego vibe from Wanda with her world tour.
She wanted Wanda to be sexier than the other superheroines.
It's more that people fear Wanda because she killed countless people with a single thought, not because she's a vagical girl and having her believe that's the reason paints her as hideously oblivious to the point of idiocy.
...I could ship that.
But I kind of already ship Hammond with Ryoko.
I don't care if it only happened in an alternate reality, still shipping it.
> In the case of Scarlet Witch, I think it was very important to give her a particular style that differentiated her from, say, Black Widow or Spider-Woman. Her natural style has always been very romantic, very feminine. In the past, it was extremely sexual, and something that we wanted to balance, here in editorial, was not losing that part of her identity. She’s a sexy character, but at the same time, [we didn’t want] her costume to be all boobs and butt. That balance is interesting. I think it’s important for characters to own their sexuality if it’s part of their identity; however, making it new, making it fresh, and giving her empowerment within that.
The original Human Torch is in this.
Also, Goddess Hecate and maybe Darkstar will appear.
Might this and Strange be leading to Stephen and Wanda having a showdown with Chthon?
this is the most memetastic phrase to ever grace feminism
sexuality has always been about appealing to another gender, you can't own it. You can only give it out.
>Waiting for the eventual Human Torch/Wanda romance.
People really will talk then.
What Bendis did to the Wanda/Hawkeye (utterly destroying it with death and rape) friendship angers me no end, of all the bridges he burnt that maybe hurt the most. At least we now have Daddyhawk in the MCU.
Everyone told Englehart Wanda didn't want kids.
Vision was baby crazy.
Vision asks her to magic up some babies when she has a chance.
Strange tells her, her babies made with magic aren't abominations.
Talks Vision down from messing with the multiverse to revive their kids.
Bendis makes her baby crazy.
Gets stuck with the crazy reputation.
This. A thousand times this.
Wanda was the one who had doubts about the whole thing. Yet she's perceived as "crazy".
The three people who thought it was the best idea ever are perceived as wise and clever.
There are only 200 left because of scarlet witch, she depowered the rest, which caused a bunch to suddenly die because they were mid-flight, or were suddenly unable to support their weird physical mutations and broke their own backs and shit

People are now actually starting to realize how crazy the Vision really is
>break the laws of physics
IF THEY CAN BE BROKEN THEN THEY'RE NOT THE LAWS OF PHYSICS
If you're breaking them with magic instead of science than technically you are.
A dumber example is during the "Trial of Hank McCoy", where one of the charges presented against him was "breaking the laws of physics", which made no goddamn sense.
Everybody in the Marvel universe should've burned her at the stake a long time ago due to her being a threat to reality itself.
Like jeez, you'd think after M-Day they'd agree on this
I thought she just took away their powers, rather than killing them?
Or, is this a different incident they're talking about?
Yep, make sure to get super angry about it and shitpost about it as much as you can. Preferably on social media. Gotta make sure all your friends and acquaintances are aware how controversial this is.
I'd considered that, but doubted it resulted in all that many mutants deaths.
It's just the way people talk about it, you'd often think that when she said "No More Mutants" she killed most of them.
When people say that it comes from guys like Rightclops who is a mutant NAZI. To him you're a traitor if you get rid of your powers even if your powers don't make you look like a supermodel and are truly shit.
Plus considering her spell was a global effect, she had to easily have gotten 100+ of them killed or maimed.
>Plus considering her spell was a global effect, she had to easily have gotten 100+ of them killed or maimed.
Not really. Most mutants who needed their powers to live would have already died when the High Evolutionary temporarily deactivated the X-Gene of every single mutant on the planet.
Witch IS exclusively female, the male counterpart is Warlock.
That is if you're using the mythos in which Witches and Warlocks are Magicians in league with Devils.
I think Blob became a fitness guru after he failed to kill himself.
I think it means "men" as in males.
What Scarlet is saying in panel four is that her superpowers are literally feminine. Associated with womanhood. "Feared by men" is given it's own narration panel, so I think it's meant to be juxtaposed with this.
That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the kind of modern misogyny social justice bloggers whine about, though. I think the implication is more that she blames sexism for witches being social outcasts, like, back in the dark ages. Which is a pretty narrow-minded way of looking at things, but capes aren't really known for their keen grasp of sociology.
I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to think she's right, in-setting, about the whole Earth Mother thing. Just because the ancient magic works, that doesn't mean it isn't surrounded by silly superstitions.
Didn't he have a shit ton of flabby skin after he lost his powers though?
Could just bullshit it away that without his subconscious ability to control it he realized being a fat fuck would do him in painfully.
Carol knows what Peter is like. Just ignore his noise.
A small percentage, but amplified because some of the ones killed or depowered were fan favorite mutants.
It was only labeled as mutant genocide cause no more children with x-genes were being born, even though mutants could still have kids, just not mutant kids.
But now we have an ACTUAL Mutant Genocide, where not only are mutants being killed instead of depowered, but they also can't have ANY kids.
So remember Marvel Civilians, when your children aren't born with nipples on their hands that shoot lasers, you can thank Black Bolt.
>So remember Marvel Civilians, when your children aren't born with nipples on their hands that shoot lasers, you can thank Black Bolt.
But... instead they'll just be born with nipples on their feet that shoot electromagnetic pulses. I don't see how that's any better.
Because those kids will be Inhumans.
And sublime doesn't give a fuck about making people hate Inhumans, since evenutally the Terrigen Cloud will dissipate and future people with Inhuman genes won't get freaky powers and inherit the earth. Then it's Sublime Town baby!
i was just making a joke
about her being the biggest x-villain.
I mean, by that logic uncanny inhumans would be an x-book too because it has blackbolt
>I think your powers were feared because you killed a bunch of muties for fun.
No man totally misogyny, how dare you imply she should be feared for nearly causing genocide on a whim you just dont know a strong oppressed woman when you see one, are you the patriarchy?
Its important to remember that pretty human looking muties with stable powers are not the norm, lots of muties would be dead instantly without their powers and thats not even talking about the ones that would be set upon by people as soon as they were defenceless.
You think Marrow, Glob herman, Husk, etc would be fine with their abilities instantaneously stripped away?
