This is the best Iron Man look even still, I never got the whole long donkey face look his face armor always goes for these days, his new armor is ass too
Also, general costume shit you like/hate....tacticool really bugs me, I don't see how Captain Americas suit "can't work"
If this Scarecrow would tossed on a shirt I would dig the design.
>>78197632
>metal muscles
>appears to be wearing tights
It's shit.
Best Iron Man and best Venom
>>78197675
I dug that one too
>>78197687
Comic designs don't need to make sense, they need to look nice.
>>78197758
Well it failed.
>>78197687
>there's an official scientific explanation for the 60s Iron Man suit being drawn like tights with a breastplate: its yellow parts are made of tiny mobile self-assembling tiles
>this means, with the possible exception of its computing power, it was qualitatively more advanced than any suit used in recent movies
Why did fictional technology go backwards?
>>78198100
To appeal to non comic book fans, like everything in most recent movies
>>78198100
>>78198171
>too lazy to draw anything but tights
>bs up some some explanation
That's comics for ya.
Tony was still using those during Extremis anyway.
>>78197632
The new base armor on its own looks too simplistic and plain but that's because it can transform into more complex looking armors.
>>78198294
When it comes to super suits, less is usually more in my opinion. Batmans classic look always looks better than when they deck him out in over designed military armor, there's a reason Spidey's classic look is so timeless and really doesn't ever need to be changed even though it occasionally is
The busier a design is usually the less memorable/visually pleasing it is to look at
>>78197632
The MvC2 art is so damn good. Would love to see a Marvel comic by that guy
>>78198347
>it can transform into more complex looking armors.
Did Tony went full Kamen Rider?
>>78198364
I wouldn't say Iron Man's suits really need to be memorable just recognize and they are cause they all maintain the same basic design sensibilities.
Iron Man changing suits all of the time is his thing though. Having new shit all of the time appeals to his character. If the just let him stop and stagnate he wouldn't be Tony Stark. That's why I like the direction they've taken with his armor almost purely on principal because they display the inherent uniqueness that should come with having constantly evolving power armor. If tomorrow Marvel released Tony's new armor that's some kind of form fitting nano machine bs or some shit I'd hate it even if it was the best designed set of tights since Spider-man himself cause it just be taking everything different about Iron Man suits and tossing it out the window.
Also with the right artist it can look rad as fuck.
>>78197632
I just really like the american flag color schemes on metal suits.
>>78197790
But the only truly good new armor design from 2000 onwards to now was the Extremis armor with honorable mention to Bleeding Edge and Ultimate.
>>78197632
>This is the best Iron Man look even still
If you have shit taste.
>>78197687
It's flexmetal, dear. Like micro-sized, polarized chainmail.
Has been since 1963.
>>78198960
Actually, the armor most people call 'the Extremis armor' (and which had already been built before Tony ever heard of Extremis) was a huge step backwards. The technology was inferior and it was weaker than many previous suits. The only thing that made the change worthwhile was the Extremis process, and that had nothing to do with Iron Man.

How about 'ugliest armor'?
>>78199036
>flexmetal
HERE'S MY SUNDAY BEST
>>78197632
that helmet is terrible
>>78199036
why does that armor have an overbite?
>>78199055
Really it should be a suit of unstable molecules or something like Captain Americas suit..... oh wait..
You're retarded.
>>78199101
Wait what?
>>78199036
>and which had already been built before Tony ever heard of Extremis
Yeah I know there was a prior version of it during the Grell run (or thereabouts) but it looked more overdesigned.
>How about 'ugliest armor'?
That's a tough one, usually I just find the worst ones unremarkable. Maybe the Heroes Reborn armor? It's one of those designs where Jim Lee can make it look passable but looks awful when other artists draw it. Like Superman's armor and some other costumes from the New 52.
>>78199055
It's a stupid term, I agree. It suggests it's a magical flexible metal, when in reality it's (supposed to be) a stacked collection of grain-of-sand-sized machines.
>>78199099
Because it's the future, baby!
>>78199106
He's comparing it to other improbable outfits from the Marvel Universe. Although I think he is wrong to drag Cap into it: the only powered armor he has was designed by Tony Stark.
>>78199109
>I know there was a prior version of i
No, there was not. The 'Extremis' armor was the successor to what, I guess, you'd have to call the 'Iron Secretary' armor, which was the successor to the 'Tin Man' armor from Grell's run. It was introduced in the story 'Extremis', but it was already a finished product.
(...)
Ah! But I rather like the Heroes Reborn armor because it was so different.
>>78199156
>He's comparing it to other improbable outfits from the Marvel Universe
Oh I see.
>>78199101
Well anon you understood the part I took issue with.
Personally I rather liked the 'SKIN' armor.
Superior tech
would rather have the og one but with the ultimate/MCU helmet if that mix ever existed
>>78198387
He's gone downhill since his Capcom days.
This 80s Iron Man suit is still my favorite, since I had a toy of it as a little guy, and it's what Iron Man was wearing in the first comic about him I ever got.
Anybody else that way about their favorite costumes?
>>78200477
The 90's modular suit probably is the best, but I love this one more than any other suit. Even more than the Silver Centurion.
>>78200738
>The 90's modular suit probably is the best
Yeah buddy
>>78199194
I liked it when it was bulkier on him. The knee and shoulder pads make particular sense though.
>>78197632
Yeah, Modular Armor is 10/10 but it's still no GOAT Silver Centurion.
>>78197687
"It's shit."
I concur
up until the tinfoil ashtray chest badge an' the upside down noodle cartons posin' as shoulder pads the suit has the sinuous linearity of tights an' a tight-fittin' t-shirt stretched over a flayed human form
I first became aware of Iron Man in comics depicting the original one colour dome headed klunky suit an' still feel it remains the only realistic design
Armor plates look cooler and you know it
Making him extremely ripped and putting that on the suit is jarring and doesn't match what the mask looks like either.
>>78201302
>Armor plates look cooler and you know it
Not the Iron Man I grew up with, so it's not jarring to me. The new styles are jarring.
>>78200620
muh man. Pic related was my first IM comic + JRJR was in his prime.
>>78201302
It's a fad, like shoulderpads and tacticool. It'll wear off.
