Actually they're not all always a literal gun, I don't recall Myrtenaster having a gun in it. The pattern does seem to hold that everyone has a melee and ranged option though. Shoulder mounted with a backpack for its ammuntion for mobile gunning
For placement mode, the gun is planted in front and extends supports and a longer barrel to help increase stability.
For the melee counterpart maybe just detach it from the shoulder in mobile mode as a battering ram.
All in all its supposed to represent unrivalinjg firepower right?
So do anything that makes the carrier look intimidating and able to impose a presence without sacrificing much practicality.

ones a Macuahuitl (see pic) that splits into two prongs like a tuning fork which would amp up it's users sound semblance.
another is a rifle that transforms into a sniper rifle, shotgun and machine gun that used but normal armed forces.
