John Constantine clones himself, and puts all of the bad parts of his soul into it, so he can get rid of them, and fuck with a lord of hell.

I personally think this was John's best con, I even like it more than Dangerous Habbits.

Other Hellblazer ones, John meets the twin he killed in the womb, John meets the Lord of the Dance, John fights, and kills, an imaginary dream whale, one of John's friends turns into a fictional character and is taken away by Winnie the Pooh, and the list goes on.

Fucking Hellblazer man.

Dr Doom was trained by a universe killing living god.

Said god came to visit Latveria with his new aprentice and destroyed the entire nation because Doom was a loser who didn't take over Earth.

So Doom teams up with the FF and after Reed sacrifices himself, the god is sealed in a box, Doom maries sue and ushers in utopia on earth.

Five years later pregnant sue asks Doom if he is finally happy and with tears in his eyes he says yes.

And then it turns out all that was an illlusion the God put in dooms brain just to fuck with him.

Then he, and I am not making this up.

Turns his blood to acid, and his skin to stone, then throws him back in tine where he is eaten by dinosau sharks.

And then it gets MORE metal.

Turns out, Doom survived that and lived for 65 million years from sheer HATRED, and then it turns out he was the new Aprentice all along, who uses his new 65 million year mastery of time and space to kill the evil god, then he just goes home.

I can see where he's going. Someone came up with a thought experiment that described willpower, and part of that experiment had willpower.
The brooms had strength because the apprentice ordered the set of brooms to move water. If he had ordered them to do something requiring willpower, they might have qualified to become a green lantern.
While the apprentice had to used magic to give the brooms physical strength, the part of the thought experiment (specifically the equation) already existed abstractly, so it could have an abstract quality such as willpower.
It's still a stretch.

>>

>>78067151
He can lift the hammer because he's worthy. Lifting Mjolnir isn't a matter of strength.
When he and Thor first met they fought, and he managed to get Mjolnir off him and geet the full Thor treatment. Later on they dueled again, but he gave up his victory to save Thor's life. Thor recognized him as a brother in arms, and Odin made him another hammer. He became an honorary Asgardian, even fought beside them as Ragnarok.
Think he hooked up with Sif for awhile too.
>>
>>78067151

I already said here: >>78066823

>>
>>78067221
No, it's finding out that when someone has "more money than God" they are actually limited by how much money exists because they aren't God.
>>
>>78067151
Back in the day, Thor was just a normal human who had the power to transform into the Norse God Thor. Donald Blake was a doctor, found the hammer, and being a good doctorly person, was able to lift it and was turned into Thor. Alternatively, anyone else worthy was turned into Thor, so they were basically Thor in all but human appearance, like the armor and personality. Blake would carry the hammer around as a cane in his normal life.
This was later retconned to Thor having amnesia and HE transformed in Blake, so he would think that Thor was the mask, so his enemies would think Thor was the mask. Turns out no, he's straight up Thor and like Odin wanted to hide him from his enemies on Earth.
AGAIN RETCONNED Now he's just straight up Thor, the Asgardian god, no human persona anymore.

I can name a few mutants who are either on par or stronger based on feats.

Hyperstorm
Legion
Marquis of Death
Jaspers

Pic related.

Clyde Wincham is a mutant who was fighting his alternate future self named the Marquis of Death.
It was an extra-dimensional battle where both sides conjured up duplicates of top tier characters.

Clyde was creating Thanos (with a functional IG), Odin and Galactus (who Adult Franklin is revered to control).

As retaliation, MoD brought out Mistress Love, Master Hate, and fucking Eternity - Cosmic Abstracts.

The scan is from the 562 - 569 Fantastic Four Arc "Masters of Doom" IIRC

Franklin's powerful, but people act like he's the only heavy hitter. I can explain the others if you want.

Mad Jim Jaspers is a Mutant-Hating British Man. Captain Britain had a nasty encounter with both of his incarnations.

Long story short - Jaspers is an insane Reality-Warping mutant. His Earth-238 version (though weaker than his Earth-616 main version) was able to create a monster called the Fury.

The Fury is a nigh-unstoppable reality-anchored conceptual being tasked with killing all Superhumans IIRC. After 238 Jaspers died, it went after his stronger 616 Counterpart.

It was an even fight until the Fury tricked 616 Jaspers by throwing him into "no-time" or some shit - a plane of existence with no reality for Jaspers to manipulate, from there the Fury could kill him with ease.

I'll explain why I think Legion is stronger next.

Back when he was first created in da 60s. So its really dumb cause now 50 years later I can't personally be sure how it went down, but research says he was always Thor. It was my understanding that at first he was Donald Blake, a doctor(Jane Foster was his nurse), who went to Norway and found the hammer. Then its said that he was always Thor, his consciousness placed into Donald Blakes body to teach him humility, by Odin. Then its said he knew he was Thor all along, he was just playing.

At least now they say all of that stuff never happened and he's just been Thor, the god. But his early stuff is kinda all over the place.

Hulk didn't turn into Thor for 2 possible reasons: 1)Thor was Thor, not Donald Blake, so you can't turn into Thor since theres already Thor.
2)He is literally just that strong. He is able to lift it by sheer strength alone, bypassing the worthiness tester.
It is possible in several stories that he is worthy. Like Superman did that one time, he couldn't at first. Then realizing the stakes, he knew that the hammer was his only chance to save the universe but he also knew he couldn't pick it up before. So he gave into the humility that there are things even he can't do and Odin was like, you got it dude, and then he beat Krona's face in with Mjolnir and Cap's shield.
Its all about humility when wielding the hammer.

DON'T WORRY THEY RETCONNED THAT

During Convergence it turned out Ryan Choi was hiding inside Ray Palmer.
During the events of Convergence, when their city was isolated from the universe, Ray Palmer for some reason gained the ability to grow his hand to gigantic size (plus started hearing a voice inside his head)

It turns out Ryan was alive all along, the voice inside Ray's head was Ryan talking to him, and the hand growing power was actually Ryan's size/mass being shifted through Ray's body.

As for Legion - he is literally the strongest Mutant - Bar None. No one fucking comes close.

He's the only mutant who literally generates more and more powers - uncontrollably. Rogue stated as such in X-Men Legacy 247-8 when she absorbed some of his powers while they were in Paris.

His most recent appearance was at the end of Simon Spurrier's ruin of X-Men Legacy (vol 2.). In the final issue (#24), Legion fully integrates a personality called "The Weaver".

The Weaver allowed David to exist outside of traditional Time and Space while casually reversing the Global damage he was causing with his previously-fractured mind.

Most shocking of all was pic related - where he literally broke the fourth wall and told us (the readers) not to be sad with what he would do next.

If you didn't know - Legion has currently wiped himself out of existence, with only Blindfold (Ruth Aldine) ever aware of his existence.

Reality and Causality restructured themselves to account for his non-birth, with everyone else not even knowing who he was.

There was also the time where one of Legion's personalities - Moira, threw the entire 616 Universe (including Franklin and Clyde), into a box. It's important to note that Moira was a psychic antibody, created to respond to Dr. Nemesis's probing of Legion's mind.

This means that Legion's subconscious casually locked the entire 616 Universe into a tangible box.

Moira would then take the rest of reality, and mold it into the Age of X Universe. Until Legion reabsorbed her and fixed reality.>>78067614

Surprisingly, Proteus isn't THAT powerful.

He can warp reality, but his range is limited to his line of sight IIRC. He's not even planet level.

His only trump card is his body possession as an energy being. However fellow reality warpers like Legion, Franklin Richards, Clyde Wincham/Marquis of Death, Jaspers, and Jamie Braddock can causally deal with him.

Hell, even Nate Grey (X-Man) could do it without much effort, as he can also become an energy being.

Carol Danvers is raped by her son from the future who impregnates her with himself. Still canon.

Tony Stark dies, the Avengers kidnap a teenaged Tony from a parallel universe and bring him into the Marvel Universe to become the new Iron Man and CEO of Stark's corporation, he's so annoying that they send him back and get another random alternate universe Tony to take his place, whole debacle is never mentioned again. Still canon.

Satan is behind all drug trafficking in NYC in Marvel. Because it happened in Punisher where that kind of shit isn't suppose to happen, fans are so pissed that Marvel pulls a "that never happened, let's never acknowledge it again" retcon on the whole thing. No longer canon.

Punisher gets surgery to become a black man. Goes over so poorly it's drooped mid-story arc with no resolution and never acknowledged again. Current canon status unknown, but presumably unlikely.

Mebbe it's 'cause my first exposure was through Jim volume 1, so I was predisposed to his Jim material. Woodring, David B, and Jesse Reklaw make the best dream comics out there, very tricky to do well.
Regardless of the fact that "dreams are weird, huh?!" Woodring has the ability to turn his into entertaining stories. They capture "dream logic" in a way better than , say Inception ever did. Different mediums so apples and oranges but I think the comparison still stands.

To add on.

Legion had thousands and thousands of powers. Though I think Spurrier retconned it so that many merged, leaving hundreds of personalities - with more on the way.

Name a power - and he probably has it in comic canon.

For example, let's say Legion's fighting Vulcan.

Vulcan has the power to absorb and manipulate all forms of energy, Legion has a shit ton of counters.

Legion can do the following:

>Telepathy - One of the powers David can consciously control. With it he can mindrape Vulcan. His TP has canonically shown to be stronger than his Father's (Professor X at his peak) - and that's lowballing it.

>Space Manipulation. - The Origamist is one of Legion's personalities. A Giant Fat sumo wrestler who can completely control the fabric of space. Warp Vulcan into a black hole, or compact space around him to the point where he's crushed into atoms.

>Time Manipulation.. - Time-Sink (Pic Related) has complete control over time. Uses it to throw objects/people into earlier or later points of time. He can also loop people withing a fixed point in time IIRC.

>Adaptation. - Endgame (Pic related) can completely control his physiology in order to perfectly counter his opponents attacks. He's very similar to the Mutant Armando Munoz (or Darwin) in that regard. As a rogue (free from Legion's mind) personality, he once turned his entire body into Wood to render himself immune to Magneto's direct control.

And worst of all? Legion probably has Vulcan's OWN power somewhere in the clusterfuck that is his head. He's the perfect counter to everyone.

There was a man that was magically turned into a frog, that lived among frogs in central park and was accepted into the frog clan in the frog town and they give him a frog name, he then aided the frogs in their war against the rats. Then at a separate occasion Thor was turned into a frog and Puddlegulp was able to lift Mjolnir. The whale didn't need to be sentient for the ring to work. Bzzd, the Green Lantern fly, was just a regular ass fly from another planet. The ring bestowed sentience on him when he was chosen, his greatest fear was losing the ring and going back to normal

Anyone have the page/s where Lex Luthor was given the power of a god, with the ONLY rule being "Don't use you powers to hurt others", and his IMMEDIATE reaction, FIRST thing on his to-do list, was "Kill superman"?

I don't really know the details, but with the powers of a god, I'm assuming he could have done pretty much anything. He could have made Superman useless. He could have become the greatest hero known to humanity, making them completely forget that bitch-ass Superman. He could have left Earth behind entirely, since it's only one tiny planet in a colossal universe full of life. He could have had everything anyone could ever want in life. All he had to do was not hurt anyone, but RIGHT after he was told this, he tries to kill Superman. He doesn't stop and think about it for a few million years, he doesn't consider the fact that he was JUST told not to do that, he just does it.

That's not just his greatest fuckup, that's not just the greatest fuckup anyone has ever made, that is the greatest fuckup that anyone in the entire universe has made, will make, or could have possibly made. Lex Luthor is the greatest failure in all of time and space.

>The first appearance of a Metabaron (chronologically the last of the Metabarons) was May 1981 in the Incal comic book series. This was followed by a series of prequels that concerned this character's origin, presented as the narration of the android Tonto to the android Lothar, of his masters' achievements. The series takes place over the course of several generations, and chronicles the life of each of the five Metabarons. The stories depict a space opera reminiscent of Greek tragedy, and heavily influenced by Frank Herbert's Dune novels.

Hahah the Pulque stuff is wicked! Didya ever read his and Mark Martin's two-man anthology Tantalizing Tales? Was mostly Frank stuff but there was some Pulque and Big red stuff in there, too....I think you're being a bit pedantic but, I dunno, I dig it! Woodring has so much bizarre stuff to choose from out of his oeuvre that it's hard to pin it down to one or two comics...but like I said it's the way they capture dream logic so convincingly that makes them compelling, I feel. Like the one that starts at the life drawing class and the girl next to him is a cartoonist, then he beheads his cat with a pair of shears after thinking it was a snake, he just evokes dreams in comic form so unbelievably well. Plus he said that some of the Frank stuff also comes from "hypnogogic states" (this was in the big TCJ "Cartoonists On Music" Special, y'know those big 12" x 12" editions they'd put out two or four times a year with a big cover-artist interview and 50 or so pages of comics dedicated to a theme? I also have the "Cartoonists on Patriotism" which has a generic "Masters of the Line" cover feature with an Al Hirchsfeld cover (I think?), anyway, they're worth checking out, ya can probably get 'em off ebay for cover price or slightly more....there was a great one dedicated to Horror manga which I keep meaning to try and pick up...) so we're probably splitting hairs at this point! Any Woodring fan is a-okay in my book, Anon. Oh, Mark Martin's "Montgomery Wart" stuff is so charming, he's a well-under-rated cartoonist...did that Gnatrat superhero parody-type comic, d'ya know his stuff?

God, Woodring draws frogs so well. "Dive Deep" was a fantastic non-Jim short from volume 2 of the eponymous comic....that pic you posted is wicked, I still need to get "Seeing Things" and "Problematic"...but my Woodring floppy collection is complete and one of the most treasured parts of my collection (I do need two issues of the Frank floppy and the Tantalizing Tales special, though).

Official /co/ Guide On How to Not Be a Casual (v0.1):

1, compile a list of your 100 favorite comics and then make a 10x10 mosaic from their covers.
2, for every letter of the Latin alphabet, read at least one comic whose title begins with that letter.
3, for every non-Antarctic continent, read at least one comic which was originally published there.
4, climb the Mount Everest of comics; read all of Cerebus the Aardvark by Dave Sim and Gerhard.
5, learn at least one additional language and read at least one comic in that language.

Do all this and I won't consider you to be a casual.

he also fought an Australian man raised by kangaroos who developed amazing jumping ability and used this skill to briefly become a boxer

Moebius took a commission for the car manufacturer Citroen to produce an album specially for their employees that would feature, surprise surprise, a Citroen car.

He ende dup turning this into a sprawling multi-book series that amongst other things wanted to unite his general Moebius works in one coherent world, teach people about the magic healing power of crystals, how modern diets are suppressing our spirituality and sexual desires and why fascism is bad m'kay.

It ended with the two protagonists, reverted to their original androgynous states and not the Conan and Red Sonja physiques they gained when they ate fresh apples or whatever, walking into a cave and finding Moebius there.

I dunno, maybe it's cause of the state of mind when I read it on here, but I just think that's all pretty weird.

Yes.
The reason why it's hatred is because of the way the fear manifests itself. The way fear of muslims manifests itself is by hating muslims

>>78072640
Could be. It's just that in a place like the United States where most people are Christians, there really isn't enough anti-Christian sentiment for there to be an entire word dedicated to it. That's not true of Muslims though.

Context I assume, phobia can mean either or both.
It could also be a hatred that comes from fear.

That it is an alien whale.
