I kind of agree. Ruby and Sapphire are neat on their own, but I don't like that ever since the reveal that everything about Garnet is analyzed in the context of her being a fusion rather than as an individual. Which is dumb, because in Stevonnie's episode, Garnet herself goes on about how fusions are their own beings and not two people in a trenchcoat.

I was one of the ones that analyzed that shit, I think I remember the quick rundown for Jasper.

White implies she has fierce loyalty to HW and her duty as a soldier, black would mean that she's willing to make great sacrifices from either herself or others to reach her goals, and red means that her emotions drive her more than logic would which can make her kind of a hothead. She really is an interesting character.
Black isn't purely as much selfishness as it is risk and sacrifice for your own ends, like maybe how Jasper would risk her ideals against fusion to destroy the CG, or something like that.

If all gems could shape-shift, Peridot wouldn't need limb enhancers, and escaping from situations wouldn't be nearly as difficult.

Amethyst can shift because she has no image for what she's suppose to look like, as Peridot said.

The whole show implies that the physical bodies of the gems are something they're stuck with. They can regenerate it, but not alter it greatly.
