So...The Jungle Movie is happening.
I don't think she has kids, but I know she and a few of the other VAs are up for it (she, Rhonda's VA, Phoebe's VA and Harold's have all said so), I guess it's just a matter of whether or not Nickelodeon decides to use them. I'm sure Craig Bartlett will push for it.
Only reason they are going back to these shows is because they can't fucking innovate anymore, they are going stale.
That is the problem with most companies in general, eventually they can't innovate anymore due to stagnation and have to rely on bringing back older products re-marketed as something new.
Well, yeah. What was the last great Nicktoon?
A lot of it has to do with the rise of social media and nostalgiafaggotry, though, and ~90s kids~ have become increasingly more vocal over the years. They're still a niche market but they've shown that they'll put their money where their mouths are. That said, I can't pretend that I'm not at least a little excited about this. The show's creator is involved so I'm cautiously optimistic. I have a huge soft spot for Hey Arnold. It's one of the few 90's Nicktoons that I loved as a kid that still holds up.
I AM SO SICK OF THESE FUCKING THREADS
NICK IS BRINGING BACK RADICAL 90S NICKTOONS
NICK IS REBOOTING 90S CLASSIC HEY ARNOLD
CHECK OUT NICKS NEW CHANNEL THE SPLAT
NICK NICK NICK NA NICK NICK NICK SUCK MY FUCKING COOOOCK
At least, this will give the chance to the creator to end the show as he intended long ago.
Which is good for some of us fans too.
>What was the last great Nicktoon?
Forgot about Avatar! Never got into it, but fair enough. It's still an oddity in Nick's roster, considering how many other shows they've put out over the years. It's also worth noting that they took advantage of it's success and produced a spinoff...
You seem a bit upset.
Nickelodeon stated they don't want to bring their old millenial demo back with Hey Arnold, they want their 6-11s to watch it. Though the fan campaigning was a big help to push it forward, so I don't know.
the problem is that each generation of people are totally utterly different. you have old masters starting an industry, you have their hardworking boomer successors, you have people in the 90s trying to make up for dips in quality for various cultural reasons, and then you have people today who just want a paycheck
okay well that's fucking retarded. get it in your heads guys, little kids will watch anything, there's no point in trying to sell them old shit that appeals to their parents
new shit sucks anyway, this is a stopgap measure hoping a new crop of actually-good creators comes around, or the economy changes
that said, i mean, in cartoons we HAVE that good crop of creators starting around 2010. but being modern sorts they have already kinda burned out from this half of this decade, they can't keep working, they need to go retreat into a corner and take their many prescription medications
Ads! /co/ is now nothing but ads!
Shit, I thought this was that guy spamming fake news about animated reboots.
>Guys finally gets off the boat
>Jungle Movie's going to be real
>whole bunch of other shit
What a time to be a-
>for the current audience that we have
And it's fucked.
I would just like to point out that this is Phoebe's voice actress now.
And upon checking her IMDB, she was also Ashley A in Recess. She does almost exclusively voice work, which is a shame because GOD DAMN!
Pls no new "hip with the times" G-rated PC characters pls dont oh god theyre gonna fuck this up ;_; I just want my Hilwood highschool awkward romantic epic tbqhwyf
>tfw it could look this good but probably won't
What about these two, any hope in their return?
If Olga isn't back and her voice literally pouring liquid sex out of my tv speakers I would be mildly upset
I'd like to see a "Hilwood Stories" series about the gang as they grow up and deal with life-related shit
No cgi please.
Ahh, but it is a must.
Two things I thought would never happen: Guts getting off the boat and a Hey Arnold reboot. This has been a strange week.
Agreed, I think they should skip to the Pataki's since the V.A's have gotten older.
>This would've been a better episode.
They aren't doing the Patakis. They said, flat out, they only want their 6-11 demo.
In the original script it was just a class trip, with the students of Arnold's class, their teacher, and the principal. I think Craig Bartlett mentioned Olga being a chaperone, but he's re-writing the script, so, who knows at this point.
I know that, I said it would be nice IF they did.
We need both Olga and Lila to make this a complete set.
>Actually shipping Arnold/Helga
Why would I want this? Hey Arnold is about a kid in an urban neighborhood dealing with life. The first movie alone showed that putting him in a big epic struggle with epic villains and shit doesn't work. Arnold's world isn't built like that. The weird things that happen were on a small scale, one relatable to pretty much any kid.
fem/faganons is he really that attractive
looks like a regular joe rocking the beardbun combo that everyone else is
Will Iggy return? Has time healed that bunny-shaped wound?
So if they're going to make a movie to close up the series then what's the point of introducing new kids to the characters? I only have a basic channel package so I don't get every Nick channel, but all I see are reruns of Spongebob, iCarly, and Fairy Oddparents. I fail to see the point of introducing new kids to the characters if they're not going to make a new series. They're not playing Hey Arnold reruns far as I know and even if they did I doubt it'd make them enough to bother playing it.
So are they going to do some bullshit where Arnold finds out his mom and dad are inexplicably still alive, and the movie ends with finding out his surname?
The former would really kill Arnold as a character for me. His parents should stay dead. I won't take it as canon if they're like "oh look, they're miraculously alive!"
>inb4 this is like those terrible live-action/CGI Fairly Oddparents movies
Please, Nick, don't do this. I mean it's one thing to commit such atrocity against FlOP, but Hey Arnold was a decent series, and doesn't deserve such treatment
Uh, it's been canon forever. The Journal was a setup for TJM. The only reason TJM wasn't made a decade ago was because the tv movie Nick pushed to theaters bombed.
His last name is Shortman, by the way. He was going to find it out by signing a package at the start of the movie.
Er, or rather he already knew what his name was. He was going to reveal it to the audience by signing a package. My mistake.
It was also going to have Arnold confess to Helga in the jungle that he loves her, too.
like what the fuck guys
That slit-eyed bitch with a inferiority complex? Ha ha you amuse me anon
Only a paper bag boy like you would stoop so low as to date a bottom feeder like Lila
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why fans clamored for a Jungle Movie and why getting one is a good thing.
I felt like the episode 'The Journal' was meant to evoke a feeling of "live and let live". At the end, Arnold, having learned the story of his parents went outside, feeling depressed, then went back inside (correct me if that was another episode). To me, this showed that we all have down moments but get out of them eventually, that his grandma and grandpa were family enough in the end, and that you can't have everything perfect in life.
Hearing about the plans for the Jungle Movie, it all sounds too hunky-dory, fanfiction-y, and awkward (yay Arnold gets back his parents, yay Arnold kisses Helga).
>NICK NICK NICK NA NICK NICK NICK SUCK MY FUCKING COOOOCK
I read it in the jungle
FUCKING GREEN EYES
GET OUT GET OUT GET OUUUUUT
And by that you mean Last Airbender right?
LoK drew no buys
