Holy shit, what the hell did I just finish? This is the weirdest comic I've ever read. Shit was all over the place. Art was so weird. Most of the pages were dominated by small portraits of aborted fetuses spouting opinions like they were being interviewed or some shit. How the hell did the art drop so badly from Dark Knight Returns? Why the fuck does Lex Luthor look like The Thing? If it didn't have Carrie in it, I wouldn't have thought it was a sequel to Returns. The whole thing just felt like a chore to read. I had seen the not so glamorous reviews on Amazon, but I didn't expect this. Only reason I read it was cause of that deluxe edition I got. Did Frank Miller really write this? Reading it was a headache. Just have to get this off my chest, I can't even comprehend this shit.
I always pretend it doesn't exist.

Blame 9/11, it made Frank go insane whilst he was writing it

Welcome to Modern Frank Miller.

Frank went to shit after 9/11. Poor guy.
There's also quite a few people on /co/ who like this, too, which I find odd.

>How the hell did the art drop so badly from Dark Knight Returns?
It didn't. If you had any eye for good craftmanship you'd pick up on just how brilliant the paneling and storytelling is. Frank's style has evolved from the days of DKR but it's not ugly, it's heavily stylized. There's a fundamental difference

I share pretty much the same opinion, except for the page(s) where Captain Marvel dies. The art might be atrocious, but I think the wording is pretty awesome.

I love DKSA Barry

example(s)? of this evolution.
So with that new Dark Knight book coming out, do I have to read Strikes Again to get it?
All I hear is bad for Strikes, and if possible I'd rather just go from Returns to new stuff without it.
>>77666183
is the deluxe ed worth it though?
>>77667343
No, it still is TDKII.
>>77666838
Well DK3 has some flashbacks that showBruce getting beat up by Luthor like he did in DK2
>>77666183
>The whole thing just felt like a chore to read
Really? I found it entertaining as fuck.
It's definitely not a good comic, but I like it a lot.

God damn, say what you will about this comic but there's some incredible writing in it here and there.
