Part of me wants this to fail. It's not out of hatred for Lion King, or furries. Disney was doing so well with original cartoons that reflected the creator's hand strongly. Those original shows made Disney relevant in TV animation again. But now they're going back to adaptations, and they obviously gave this a much higher budget, and pulled their better studios from other cartoons to work on it. i know someone who was working on this and was really stoked about it, apparently the animation and story were really working and well paced but then marketing demanded that a character they had planned to introduce in the finale actually show up less than halfway through so they could sell toys of that character and now the plot is all fucked up and everyone working on the show is really upset about it.

Also anyone else think it was in bad taste that the pilot special had Pumbaa fart? Not even in the LK film did we see Pumba actually rip one. It was implied, but you never heard the sound of farting coming from him during his backstory. That and having Bunga save the day by farting was a real lowering of the bar for this thing. So far Bunga is the worst character due to that and his catchphrases being annoying.
