Batman Europa actually came out.
How long ago was this first announced?
Will be posting alt covers.
Won't be posting ads.
And another "variant" that looks exactly the fucking same as the standard cover.
Give it a bump if you're reading.
I normally hate Jim Lee, but this actually doesn't look half bad.
Has Killer Croc ever been a threat?
Looks like a lunging headbutt.
Actually kind of liking this art. I'm surprised. Probably the best thing Jim Lee has done since his X-Men run.
What are you guys reading this week?
I'm waiting on Huck.
So what do you guys think?
>I'm ready to go all the way and do it
No but it makes faggot casuals constantly talk about how they are gay for each other while also ruining the core motivation for Joker.
Joker is only obsessed with Batman cause he finds his whole crusade a joke since Gotham can't be saved. He's entertained by Batman not in love with him.
OLD AS FUCK comic that got delayed for an insanely long time and Jim Lee just now got off his fucking ass and drew the first issue of. Who knows if the others will ever come out or not.
Shit's literally older than Captain America White.
I know Europa is old as shit but this Joker over saturation is getting to be pants on head retarded.
How long do we have to wait until we get good stories consistently again with other villains? 5 more years? A decade?
Eh, the idea goes back to at least Morrison's Arkham Asylym in 1989, and probably before in subtext that Morrison just made explicit.
You're REEing over a portrayal of the Joker-Batman relationship that's at least 26 years old at this point. Sorry, it's part of the greater Batman mythos mix by now, anon.
Ummm Arkham Asylum was a fucking elseworld and in no way should have been interpreted as the main canon. Batman is also into hurting himself in that and stabs a shard of glass through his hand. That whole thing had deep sexual overtones that were never meant for the main universe. Writers should not be that retarded.
Basically. He raped and killed my Bruce and turned him into a handicapped man child and just copy and pasted Morrison's run, poorly for the most part.
Hell he even put in his sleeper bad guy girl with Julie and gave her red hair. It's not even subtle.
>it's an elseworld too so we need these sexual overtones!
I actually liked the issue but I see what that anon means. That opening page was not only unnecessary it was also very clearly casual bait cause Bathaters love that shit.
Morrison's notes in the anniversary edition says he thinks of Arkham Asylum as a dream that Batman was having.
Also as far as Joker being gay, I think in James Van Hise's Batmania there was a mention that Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams always thought of the Joker as being gay, but I've yet to find corroborating sources. On the other hand James Van Hise sometimes posts on other comics message boards so maybe I should've just asked him in the first place.
first image that pops up on google.
Kek it's 1:1 a copy of Morrison's run. Does someone have the copy pasta of all the comparisons?
Hell even Julie is basically just Jezebel Jet and will undoubtedly be evil. He even gave her red hair.
Yea but that doesn't matter if he characterizes Batman like an edgelord manchild.
Morrison wrote Batman stories too, about Batman becoming a better superhero and father. Just because you don't like the whacky sci-fi elements of Batman, doesn't mean they're not valid tot he character.
>Hell even Julie is basically just Jezebel Jet and will undoubtedly be evil.
Snyder has said he's gonna not do that or kill her to make Bruce Batman again
However, watch her be the daughter or niece or something of Joe Chill or Mr Bloom
Thematic elements are fine, but when it becomes an obstacle in the flow of the narrative, it becomes a hassle.
Denny O'Neil, the best Batman writer, wrote complex Batman narratives, but you never needed a fucking roadmap and a guide book to read each issue. His run wasn't some fucking puzzle box to decipher.
Dixon, Moench, Dini, these people didn't write time god gestalt continuity Batman. They just wrote fucking BATMAN. And wrote him well. And so does Snyder.
This fucking Morrison worship has made /co/ unbearable. Just because he's ambitious, doesn't mean he's good. His stories are lopsided and he tries way too hard to prove how clever he is. I just want to read a Batman story.
>ut when it becomes an obstacle in the flow of the narrative, it becomes a hassle.
So you are a retard that find morrison hard? I hate your kind, you idiots should try open real books, Morrison is not complex at all, is just that you are so used to DUMBED DOWN action driven shit you get mad when you actually have to read the dialogues. Fuck of pleb. Harry Potter must be extremely hard for the likes of you.
Oh, so you must've hated the Batman stories all those other writers I mentioned wrote because they weren't smart enough?
Stop trying so hard to defend your girlfriend Morrison. I can handle complexities in storytelling, but not when it's superfluous and poorly written.
Those other stories are great but it in no way makes Morrison's work any less great just because he tied his entire run together with story elements. If you think they "get in the way", not to sound pretentious, but you probably just hadn't read enough Batman to understand them. Not everything has to be new reader friendly, stuff can be made for old readers.
>t you probably just hadn't read enough Batman to understand them
Man are you thickheaded.
I understood what he was doing. I didn't think it was necessary, and I found it clumsy how it was executed. I just fucking named a bunch of writers whose Batman material I've read. In their entirety. Do you know how many decades of Batman that is?
But yeah, I probably just haven't read that much Batman. Just all of Dixon, all of Moench, all of Dini, all of O'Neil. Plus Englehart, Rucka, Brubaker, Miller, Conway, Robbins, Barr, and others.
None of these writers had to overcomplicate the formula. They just wrote good Batman stories. And I'd include Snyder among their numbers before I'd include Morrison.
Like seriously, what's up with all the random lines and dashes everywhere in the art? Can an artist explain it to me? Is it supposed to make it look lively, or detailed, or is it supposed to be a "style" ?
I find it ruins everything.
Ignoring the gayness of the first page, is this still related to Batman getting amnesia and Superman losing his powers? Or is this another alternate Earth thing?
Speaking of the amnesia thing, why didnt his alternate ego batman plan work during that?
>All those people trying to claim Bats and Joker aren't fags for one another
Batfags are so deluded.
Point and case why this shit needs to stop. They only do it cause they know Bathaters and casuals love it so they can make fun of Batman and they know Batfags will read it anyway.
>Just all of Dixon, all of Moench, all of Dini, all of O'Neil. Plus Englehart, Rucka, Brubaker, Miller, Conway, Robbins, Barr,
The only ones on your list I'd consider better than Morrison are Englehart, O'Neil, and Miller, maybe Dini. Some others are about even (Snyder, Robbins) and I'd rather read Morrison's Batman again before I ever read Bruce Wayne Murderer/Fugitive/whatever ever again.
