Seriously, in that book the Authority heroes are all ridiculously, absurdly, almost arbitrarily powerful. I liked it--it worked in the self-contained setting that I read it in--but did they retain it in the merger with the greater DCU?

But do they actually enjoy it? Do they grin maniacally as they bash skulls in? Do they tell someone to beg for mercy, only to fuck them up more? If their foe lives, do they get tingles inside knowing they're going to be able to fuck them up again?
