Can we have a thread about any hero's single best story?
Pic related for Superman.
Its not even in his top 5
>>77450033
>best story for superman
>isn't about superman
>>77450033
That's a good one but not his best.
It's pretty good
>>77450106
>you again
name your five
Protip: Red Son is shit.
>>77450033
Sure it's a good story, but it's not the best Superman story. Maybe top 10.
>>77450141
>red son is shit
I'd call it pretty overrated but it's not shit

"Best" in art is a personal and relative term.
Now, my favorite Superman story is Under a Yellow Sun; it's got great art, it's grounded and it's about what Superman is all about at a personal, emotional and psychological level instead of "Lazor eyes, fly and punch the bad guys" (Even though there is some of that).
Other people will like him more fantastical and superlative, but that's not really my thing.

While not #1 by any means, the recent GL Darkseid war issue was amazing. Definitely in my top 10 all time GL stories.
Has /co/ had a thread on it yet? What did you guys think?
>>77450114
I've never really understood why people say this. Secret Identity is absolutely about Superman. All it really does is strip out everything but Clark himself and place him in a "real world" setting, but the character itself is pretty much the exact same. Not only is it a Superman story it is, arguably, the MOST Superman story.
>>77450033
that's not Moores Supreme
>>77450289
There was a storytime thread, consensus is that it was really damn good
>>77450033
All*Star is better to be quite honest with you family.
>>77450543
'no'
>>77450033
nice try, casual
>>77452703
That's even more casual.
>>77450128
It looks really good but it's not much of a story. Wouldn't make my top 5 for The Flash.
Unless you mean Barry Allen specifically and then maybe, I guess, but I didn't read a lot of Bronze Age stuff.
Up, Up, and Away is better
>>77450033
Storytime when? Or maybe dump? Story sounds interesting.
>>77450322
But he's not even an alien, which is one of the most important parts of Supes.
>>77454711
>which is one of the most important parts of Supes.
Not really. During the Byrne origin there were next to no references to Superman's alien past, and there was only a brief issue with Jor-El's "techno-ghost" at the end.
Different writers can try different things, obviously, but the point is that you can have Superman stories without delving too much into Krypton stuff or bringing up the fact he's an alien too much.
I think this is easily Batmans best stand alone. I love the commentary that Batman is more than Bruce Wayne. That even once Bruce Wayne isn't around anymore in the comics that there will always be a Batman. I also love the art and references to Batman's entire history and the story itself is fantastic.
Come on /co/ stop shit posting for 5 min and let's have a thread about comics.

Stopped reading here

Kek nice bait
>>77455966
I don't even want to imagine what happened to that Dick in the end.
>>77455855
I like how it's technically the end game of every Batbook cause of the history references.
>>77454254
Yeah, I meant specifically Barry.
Probably better stories, but in terms of "giving someone something outright for their first" I think it's #1
>>77456106
It's only endgame for another 15 years.
>>77456556
Jesus. That's crazy to think about
