For me it was magical land of the jockeys.

Before that I had religiously watched every new episode when it came out.

After that I went cold turkey.

For me, it was the one where Lisa Simpson made a friend with Juliet Hobbes.

Granted it had been a while since I laughed as much in any of the episodes beforehand, but this was the one that just felt like there was nothing to really laugh at.

Then I came back and saw Comicbook guy trying to marry a manga artist, and that's when I knew I made the right decision to drop out.

Well, I got pretty mad with them
after I saw the HD intro. They made such a fuss about that piece of shit. Before that I would still watch the Simpsons if it happened to be on TV, but the new intro killed it for me.

Now I actively avoid the Simpsons whenever the episodes are displayed using the entire screen. And that still leaves a 70% chance that the episode will suck anyway.

The shitty youtube parodies are better than the original series now.

They retired a few minor characters out of respect for their VAs, but if a main cast member died I guarantee you they have replacements lined up already.

They probably can't find individuals who can do everything the main cast can, but they can split the roles among various talented imitators. The voices aren't impossible to imitate.

As long as the show still makes money they'll keep it going no matter who dies. The audience clearly doesn't care about quality or consistency.

Like Billy West has said. The hardest voice to imitate is the closest to the actual voice actor. It's why he made Fry his own voice. Try and imitate it. Pretty fucking hard to. You probably could do a half decent Zapp Brannigan though because it's a made up voice.

I didn't watch the new episodes, only seeing them when they were eventually mixed into the syndication. I got quite a few more years of enjoyment from them than most others, but I also had no idea what season episodes were from. Jockey Elves came along and I had no idea what was going on.

I fucking loved Simpsons as a kid, and I used to watch it a ton. My standards were pretty low so I didn't care as much about stuff like the Tony Hawk episode.

I did stop watching for a long time, though, and a few years ago I saw that episode where all the elderly in Springfield take those pills and their eyeballs pop out. I knew the Simpsons had gone to shit but I'd never seen it firsthand. It was a sad moment for me.

On the bright side, I haven't seen a lot of the older episodes since I was a kid and I'm pretty excited to go back and binge the series again.

I'm not one of those guys who shits on flash animstions because it's not muh hand drawn (you can get some impressive looking stuff with that tool), but this looks as lifeless as a piece of shit show like Johnny Test. I recently rewatched season two's episode "Three men and a comic book" and holy shit that looked amazingly good, some moments like the camera changing angle from Bart's tree house to the ground all in one unedited shot are things you will never see again in this show because it requires too hard work and some actual heart
