Why, I do believe it's time for Showcase '93!
But enough about me, how's your day been?
This is gonna be a long one, so you'd best answer the call of nature sooner rather than later.
Jade dated Kyle Rayner for a while, then cheated on him because editorial mandate said so. She was then killed off in an Infinite Crisis tie-in for cheap drama, and was resurrected in Blackest Night for more cheap drama.
Obsidian came out of the closet, dated the colleague of Kate Spencer (Manhunter VIII), and went through some bullshit in Brightest Day so stupid I can barely be bothered to summarise it.
Of course, Alan Scott's gay now, so neither of them exist.
Bruce and Tim will reappear a little later, so I'll get to them a little later.
Harvey Dent got his face repaired during the Hush storyline, then destroyed it again in One Year Later. He joined the Injustice League, was a dick in Battle For The Cowl, and got chased out of Gotham by the new Black Mask.
The New 52 gave him a completely different origin story, which was kinda neat, I guess.

>neither of them exist.
:(
Ice was killed by somebody called Overmaster, but was resurrected in Birds of Prey. Her relationship with Guy is kinda fucked up now.
Fire joined Checkmate, where she was written as kind of an asshole. She and Ice dicked around in Generation Lost.
>Nobody's bumping.
Cmon /co/, it was past page 7
Sir Justin dicked around in Infinite Crisis and Cry For Justice, before being replaced by Sir Ystin, because Grant Morrison.
Helena Bertinelli dicked around in pretty much every pre-Flashpoint Bat-event, not to mention Brightest Day. She's now Dick Grayson's partner in Spyral, where she's now brown (to distinguish her from Earth-2 Helena).
"Lock and load, boys"
J'onn had a pretty good redesign in '06, got killed in Final Crisis, was resurrected in Blackest Night so he could dick around in Brightest Day. Post-Flashpoint, he's been a member of Stormwatch, Justice League and Justice League United, in that order... I think. Editorial coud never figure out if he was JLA before he was StormWatch.
Deathstroke is still one of DC's biggest Gary Stus, with his dicking around in Infinite Crisis as his crowning glory.
Peacemaker was killed off, only to be brought back to life with no explanation in Blue Beetle v5(?). He'll probably show up in Multiversity soon enough.
Deadshot was part of Secret Six, but is now part of the New 52 Suicide Squad.
Katana dicked around in Blackest Night, and was part of the New 52 JLA.
Kimiyo Hoshi had a few cameos in 52, dicked around in Blackest Night and War of The Supermen, before getting shot by Deadshot.
Wonder Woman was forced into some bullshit in Infinite Crisis because Dan Didio. She's now Superman's girlfriend, or something. I don't even know anymore.
So, why is this run of Showcase important?

I'm not trying to troll, just wondering if there's a significance I'm missing.

I'd storytimed the original Showcase title DC put out in the 50's-70's a while ago, so I thought I go through the 90's Showcase titles.
Tim would get shat on for most of the 00's, because Dan Didio.
Dick would almost marry the woman who raped him, because Devin Grayson is in-fucking-sane.
Bracuda showed up in a flashback in Batman v1 #512, but that's it. Chulo didn't even get that.
Hal became crazy, then he became parallax, then he became The Spectre, then he was a Green Lantern again.
Lan's only been mentioned in a Secret Files anthology comic.
This is Kristogar's only appearance.

OK, thanks
Creeper dicked around in Countdown to Mystery and Reign In Hell, joined The Outsiders, and is now a zombie in The New 52... I think.
That's enough of Showcase '93 for today...
... Mort Walker is 91...
... Spike Feresten, who wrote Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast and The Bee Movie, is 50...
... Charlie Sheen is 49...
... Noah Baumbach, the man who co-wrote Fantastic Mr Fox and Madagascar 3, is 45...
... Thuy Trang died 13 years ago today...
... and Michael Clarke Duncan died two years ago.
Well, I'm done for today. I'll be back tomorrow, knock on wood, to give you all the last of Showcase '94, as well as a few little surprises.
