I dunno if this gonna trigger any eva fan over here but I just curious about final rebuild.
Some ppl theory did say that shinji might be the eve in the final also FAR like kaworu/adam and rei/lilith since somebody mention his has a core or something but I'm just curious about how fanboys really gonna accepted that shinji might turn into a girl in final if he really the eve or they probably remain the his gender?

There was an anon some time ago who used to post about such theories on /a/ and /cm/, using some discarded concept art from the 2.0 CRCs and stuff as evidence.
Everyone's knee jerk reaction (including mine) was to call them crazy, but it's not like we could refute them either.
No one can predict what's going through Anno's mind.

The primordial thing however isn't so farfetched, in the Anime Rei/Lilith was pushed as the mother and Kaworu/Adam was subtly pushed as the father but they never went anywhere with it outside of superficial aspects.

As for Rebuild, I agree that Shinji seems to have taken Rei's role in a lot of respects.
First there's his red eyes and pale skin in the finale of 2.0, the core from UYCTM, his ability to cause impacts as a trigger like Kaworu, and him having to pull Lilith's spear while Kaworu pulls Adam's spear for their plan to work in 3.0.
Whether they're actually going to make him full-on Lilith or just another FAR, who knows.

The initial speculation didn't originally stem from Shinji's relationship with Kaworu or the Anima-related BS at first, but from Shinji's relationship with Rei. If you try to picture their relationship in a non-romantic or non-pandering/shipping light throughout the movies, it becomes obvious that Shinji's relationship with her is TEEMING with parental/maternal overtones.

The most blatant example of this is when Shinji goes berserk to save and retrieve Rei at the end of 2.0. It basically parallels Unit 01's/Yui's attempts to protect Shinji in ep.19 of NGE, down to both Shinji and Yui going full berserk, bumping the sync ratio to ridiculous levels and fully absorbing the child-figure they were trying to protect into their cores. It also helps that Gendo manipulated Shinji's bond with Rei so that he would go berserk and trigger an impact, much like how Gendo manipulated Yui's bond with Shinji so that she could go berserk to eat Zeruel's S2 organ in the original show.

This isn't even taking the underlying nature and symbolism of Rebuild's impacts into consideration, which is the second biggest clue. It's all extremely sexual in nature, but I've already explained this stuff before, so a tl;dr rundown of it as follows, for those who don't know:

>Rei = egg/fetus
>blue angel goop that infected the Wuunder in 3.0 & Asuka/Eva 03 in 2.0 = sperm
>impact = fertilization/fetus development process

Rei might actually be pre-FAR Shinji & Kaworu's true child because her "angel corruption process" triggers an impact, which then triggers the rest of humanity to "evolve." That's why the failures of infinity are all headless, and why there were giant human skulls littered around terminal dogma. Those were Rei heads.

Take it as you will, but I still haven't seen anyone on /cm/ or /a/ properly debunk these theories after so many years.

Post 2.0 Asuka is a bastard child of sorts, but that's another matter entirely.

So then what exactly was Gendo planning to achieve by making Rei and Shinji closer together? You mentioned before he does that smile scene in 1.0 when Shinji runs to Rei, unlike in NGE where it's when Yui protects Shinji.
What do you think Yui's role is in Rebuild, then?

I'm kind of curious how come the 90s' and post NGE we're all about shinkawo and now it seems everyone likes kawoshin more?
Why would general preference switch like that?

If anything, I think rebuilds actually suggest shinkawo more.

Regarding Gendo, I think it's pretty clear he's using Shinji's bond with Rei as a lure to trigger & continue the impact process, removing the innate power that Shinj & Kaworu have over the impacts so that he and Yui can take control over the whole thing for themselves. It's not another NGE scenario where Yui didn't share her master plans with Gendo - nope, BOTH of them are in on it together now.

Keep in mind that Seele had complete control over 3.0's fourth impact because they had the "brain" of Nebuchadnezzar's Key embedded into their artificial/tang bodies. This allowed Seele to override Shinji and Kaworu's wishes & intentions for fourth impact. That's why we see brain imprints go off on their monoliths once Fuyutsuki starts shutting them down.

But Gendo is a clever bastard because he managed to come up with a plan that stopped 4th impact and got rid of Seele in the process, via Kaworu's death. So now he's able to take control over the impact process for himself, now that he has the remaining body of the Key of Nebuchadnezzar.

For the SDAT, it has some new parent-child symbolism significance applied to it now. It was originallly a memento of Shinji's - reminding him of his father. In 2.0 it became a memento for Rei, and she replaces Gendo's glasses with it (implying that she's replacing Gendo with Shinji as her new parental figure.)

And the Ayanami series - it's worth noting that there are 4 "adams" that Gendo/Seele need to trigger to complete the impact process. We see 4 Reis in 2.0's post-credits teaser for 3.0 - and our Rei has purple eyes instead of red now, indicating that she's been "corrupted," if you know what I mean. But - you should also keep in mind that Rei isn't the only one being mass-produced either.

How was he girly in NGE? He never did anything girly in NGE and was the one to initiate the first physical contact.

To clarify, I don't think he was ever girly or acted in a girly way. But with rebuilds they kind of brought them to the same level, making Shinji something inhuman and the rest of the stuff.
NGE Kaworu is clearly on another level than NGE Shinji in every aspect so NGE shinkawo just doesn't make sense to me and seems very out of character. So I wondered why people liked it.

That might all be a matter of preferences though, I agree.

Tbh as for me though I don't want to reply but I had too, after I saw shinji has boob in eoe as well being penetrated by kaworu lance of longinus I think he did hold female role and 3.0 he had more fanservice than the girls believe so also I think I do read some official source where anno wanted to make shinji female but was rejected I don't remember though I wish to find it again if someone had it or know it.
Btw wasn't there fanmade video of nge first episode started as shinji as girl though it's short but the animation was really good. So what I'm trying to says it was kawoshin from the very beginning and like somebody said the seme/uke trope does happen in nge but fan love to delude themselves and try to change thing. Shinkawo (i.e Shinji being forward, not necessarily sex) makes sense to me in NGE. Kaworu is a clueless alien and Shinji is a horny teenager. He would probably jump him sooner or later especially since he's comfortable around Kaworu and Shinji has an undercurrent of being manipulative so I could even see him using him for gratification.

You keep mentioning the Ayanami series, but in the keys from last thread Fuyutsuki says Gendo isn't interested in them because they're not included in Yui's plan. But in SEELE's instead.
That must be why she released the angel from Mark.06 during the climax in 3.0, it was orders from SEELE.
But if that's the case it's weird he would be banking on 2.0!Rei getting closer to Shinji, unless the former is completely unrelated to the Ayanami series despite Fuyutsuki's words.

IMO, Gendo and Yui's plan is to overtake Kaworu and Shinji's Adam & Eve roles for themselves, so that the can take control over the impacts and recreate the world as they see fit. Not at all, their bond was the catalyst for 2.0's third impact and their relationship was later manipulated ensure other impacts (ex: Rei Q was bait to get Shinji to abandon WILLE and join Nerv.)

Seems to be related to the 13 angels and how they lead to the final impact process that completes the failures of infinity. Also it looks like only 2 of those numbers are associated with Rei. Did they finally release a CRC book for 3.0? I've never seen these before.

It's not the CRCs, it's the Q content collection. I scanned a few pages and translated the cut dialogue in them last thread.

There's a scene of Fuyutsuki explicitly saying the Ayanami series was not written in Yui's plan, and therefore Gendo has no interest in them.
Furthermore there's a bunch of cuts to the SDAT when talking about Rei.
That's what I kept referring to in my replies to you.
