Does cranberry juice have any real health benefits, especially when weighed against the sugar content? I've been drinking nothing but water lately and want to add some variety that isn't soda. Is the "cocktail" stuff the only option or is there a better version to drink?

I like mixing cranberry juice with seltzer. You get a nice drink that isn't soda, though it's carbonated, and doesn't have the high sugar content of juice.
I think that cranberry juice does have some ill-defined health benefits, but I'm not sure it isn't something that you couldn't get from something else without all the added calories.

That's mostly sugar water. Oceanspray is one of those "contains 10% juice" beverages.

Really strong cranberry is supposed to be good for urinary tract health. And help you pass drug tests I've heard
Ocean Spray cranberry juice is a cocktail mix meaning it has other juices in it, usually apple juice, which is what really makes it sugary
You could probably find plain cranberry juice but it'd be harder and you'd be better off making your own
Cranberry juice, yes.
Cranberry juice "cocktail" is just cranberry-flavored apple juice.
People in this country don't read goddamn labels, I swear.

Drug test is a myth, and like other anon said, its sugar water. I live in cranberry country, and eat those tart little fuckers like candy.

You can get 100% cranberry juice but it's pretty expensive.
And it is tart as fuck on its own.
But you can add just a splash of it to straight-up vodka and it's so tart that you can't taste the alcohol at all.

Yes, buy a blender or a juicer. Make your own raw/whole juices. That's what I do. Apple season here soon in New York, going to make 100Gl dry English style cider this year. Last years cider was good, but not great.

I have a food processor and live in MA so cranberries should be easy to get, not sure where I would buy them in bulk though.
I dont mind adding some sugar to take the edge off.
You're going to make cider with just a juicer? That must be time consuming unless you have some professional equip. I usually get 6-12gal from my local brew shop when its in season
