nice trips
treat the powder as more of a seasoning as its probably not strong enough on its own. curry powder sucks compared to curry paste.
if you are wanting to make a curry out of it/with it, you will need other ingredients too. i used this recipe, but added lamb and used curry powder instead of the curry mix, it was pretty good. wish it was spicy though

You will need more than curry powder to make a curry, amusingly.
When I make curry, I use: cayenne, paprika, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, and tumeric, and only actually use the curry powder to sautee the meat in briefly before throwing it in with the rest of the curry.
Basically, curry powder isn't what is exclusively in some kind of curry paste, but one of several ingredients, in the same way that you need more than chili powder to make chili.
Do they not have google where you live?

the cheap store bought curry powder i grew up eating seems to be predominately fenugreek.

This is what I use currently, it is kinda boring, but suitable for plebs who don't like overly exotic curries as is my current unfortunate circumstance.
