Hey, /ck/. I'm going to be making dinner tomorrow. Steak with some seasoned buttered noodles. Of course I will be having a side of vegetables to break up all that richness, but I don't know what would be best. I'm thinking a salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Do you have any ideas for other types of vegetables?

Whats next ITT
easy and classic:
cut a big tomato in half, salt+pepper. cook it for like 4 minutes(fry). serve.
if you like/have add:
herbs(thyme,rosemary)
some acid(aceto balsamico, white wine or red wine)
I made steak tonight with butternut squash roasted until buttery soft and slightly caramelized at the edges; it went great with the steak which was just as soft as the roast squash in places. I also served with it mushrooms sauteed with smoked garlic and shallots, that's quite rich in itself but damn tasty.
I'd generally go serving it with muskier vegetables like squash, sweet potato, carrots, mushrooms, leeks, parsnips, roasted red onion, things like that.
